국문 초록

“한반도의 통일은 언제 그리고 어떤 방법으로 이루어질까?”, “남북한 7.000만 민족이 진정으로 바라는 통일은 어떤 모습일까?”, “통일을 위해 우리는 무엇을 준비해야 할까?” 앞의 질문에서 보이듯이, 한반도의 통일을 이루기 위한 중요한 키워드(Key word) 가운데 하나는 “화목(Reconciliation)”이다. 화목은 하나님께서 예수 그리스도를 통해서 주시는 선물이다. 하나님께서 예수님의 성육신 사건을 통해 보여주신 “그리스도 안에서 화목(Reconciliation In Christ)”이야말로 한반도의 통일에서 기대되는 중요한 가치이자 출발점이다. 본 연구는 루터(Martin Luther, 1483-1546)와 함께 종교개혁 2세대인 칼빈(John Calvin, 1509-1564)의 화목의 신학이 기독교통일교육에 기여하는 바가 무엇인지 살펴보는 것이다. 칼빈의 화목에 대한 가르침이 제네바 현장에서 목회적 대안으로 떠올랐던 것처럼, 본 연구는 통일의 문제에 있어 분열된 의견을 수렴하고 기독교 통일교육의 실천 가능한 접촉점을 제시할 것이다. 또한 칼빈의 생애와 저술, 제네바 현장 사역을 통해 나타난 화목의 가르침을 기독교 통일교육에 적용할 수 있는 부분을 기술해 보고자 한다. 기독교 통일교육은 하나님과 예수 그리스도와의 관계의 기초에서 시작된다. 기독교 통일교육이 추구하는 궁극적인 목표는 하나님 나라의 회복이며, 이것은 단순히 지식을 전달하는 것이 아니라 한 사람 한 사람의 신앙적이며 총체적인 삶을 요구한다. 나와 너에서 출발하여 공동체로 나아가는, 구체적이며 실제적인 교육 현장을 필요로 한다. 본 연구를 통해 칼빈의 화목에 근거한 실제적인 가르침이 나와 너, 공동체 가운데 온전히 체화되고, 나아가 기독교 통일교육이 삶의 현장 가운데 지속적으로 이루어지길 소망해본다.

영문 초록

“How and when will the unification of the Korean Peninsula be achieved?”, “What would the unification of the 70 million Koreans really want?”, “What should we prepare for unification?” As shown in these questions, one of the key words to achieve unification of the Korean Peninsula is “Reconciliation”. Fellowship is a gift from God given to us through Jesus Christ. The “reconciliation in Christ” that God showed through the incarnation of Jesus is an important value and a starting point that should be expected from the unification of the Korean peninsula. This study examines contributions made by John Calvin (1509-1564), the second generation of the Reformation, along with Martin Luther (1483-1546), upon the theology of reconciliation and its implications to Christian unification education. Just as Calvin’s teachings on reconciliation served as a pastoral alternative in Geneva, this study will gather disaggregated opinions on the question of unification and present practical points of contact for Christian unification education. In addition, I would like to describe the lessons from Calvin’s life, writings and the teaching of reconciliation through his Geneva ministry, and to apply them to Christian unification education. Christian unification education begins with the relationship between God and Jesus Christ as its foundation. The ultimate goal of Christian unification education is the restoration of the kingdom of God, which requires the faithful and holistic life of each person, and not simply knowledge of the kingdom. This requires a concrete and realistic education field that starts from me and you to a community. Through this study, I hope that the actual teaching based on Calvin’s reconciliation will be fully embodied in me and you, and our community, and that Christian unification education will continue in our lives.
