국문 초록

오늘날 현대성(modernity)의 위기로 말미암아 표출되는 분절화와 파편화는 극단적으로 인간의 삶에 대립과 위기, 갈등과 분열, 폭력과 전쟁 등을 야기하고 있다. 통전적 영성교육은 분절화와 파편화에 기인한 왜곡된 세계적 상황에서 하나님의 창조된 세계질서 안에서 신앙의 본질과 인간성 회복을 위한 기독교교육의 새로운 접근 형태이다. 통전적 영성교육은 20세기 이후에 등장한 신과학주의운동, 생명철학, 진화발생생물학 등과 같은 새로운 통섭(consilience, 統攝)적 사고와 유기체론적 인식론에 기초하여, 하나님의 창조된 세계 질서 안에서 모든 실재들이 온전한 삶을 이루어 가도록 돕는데 주요 초점이 있다. 통전적 영성교육을 위한 교수방법은 하나님의 창조된 세계 하나님-세계-인간-자연이 창조의 질서를 회복하며, 교육현장에서는 교사-학습자-교육주제가 분리와 단절을 극복하고 상호 유기적으로 진리에 순종하고 실천하는 삶, 곧 앎과 삶이 일치되는 삶을 살아가도록 돕는 교육모델이자 교육방법이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to explore the teaching method for holistic spiritual education. Today, the trends of isolation and fragmentation which are caused by the crisis of modernity have brought many serious troubles such as antagonism, conflict, disruption, injustice, hostility, violence, and war in the various contexts of human life. Holistic spiritual education is a kind of new Christian education approach, which guides to overcome the distorted worldly situation that is imputed by isolation and fragmentation, and which promotes to recover the essence of Christian faith and the nature of humanity in the world of God’s orderly creation. Holistic spiritual education is based on the ideas of new science movement, life philosophy, and evolutionary developmental biology since the 20th century which involve in both the idea of consilience/wholeness and the epistemology of an organic body. This holistic spiritual education enables God’s children to facilitate the reformation of the whole life. While respecting the Christian viewpoint of God’s creative world, the holistic spiritual educator is able to help his/her learners in order to establish the whole life through the integration between knowing and experiencing/living, and between reason and faith in light of the teachings of the Bible. Holistic spiritual education leads us to recover newly the order of God’s creative world in which God, world, human being, and nature are mutually correlated with one another. Especially within the contexts of actual education, this holistic spiritual education guides us to realize that every kinds of educational factors such as teacher, learner, and subject matter are not separated from and conflicted among themselves, but are closely related to an organic whole body under the order of God’s creative world.
