국문 초록

이 논문은 1961년에 창립된 한국기독교교육학회의 50년사를 기술하는 문제에 관한 것이다. 한국기독교교육학회는 처음에는 몇 명 되지 않는 학자들이 친교와 학술적 교류를 위하여 비형식적으로 모인 작은 모임이었으나, 2011년 오늘 200명이 넘는 학자들이 참석하는 큰 학회로 발전하게 되었다. 따라서 학회 역사를 기술한다는 것은 과거를 성찰하고 현재를 진단하는 것 뿐 아니라 앞으로 맞이하는 새로운 미래의 희망을 찾는 학문적 작업이라고 볼 수 있다. 역사 기술에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 사관이라고 볼 수 있는데 본 논문에서는 학회라는 독특한 모임에 대한 성찰을 위한 사관을 탐색적으로 먼저 서술하였다. 즉 목적론적, 역사법칙적, 사학이론적 사관이 제기하는 역사서술의 주요한 쟁점들을 기초적인 질문으로 삼아 서술하였다. 이러한 논의는 역사 속에서 하나님의 인간을 구원하시고자 보여주신 계시에 관한 구원사적 역사를 보는 사관 속에서 통합된다. 구체적 접근방법에 있어서는 문화사적, 인물사적, 문제사적, 구술사적 관점에서 서술하였다. 이를 통하여 학회 역사 서술은 이러한 관점들이 통합적으로 채택될 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 그리고 한국기독교교육학회 역사에 대한 연구의 흐름을 살펴봄으로써, 역사 기술의 논거가 될 수 있는 대표적인 사건들을 고찰하는 것과 아울러 그동안 주목하지 않았던 사건 및 사안들에 대하여 다양하게 접근할 필요가 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 역사 기술에 있어서 시대구분의 주요 쟁점들을 비판적으로 다루면서 한국기독교교육학회의 역사를 서술한다는 작업은 단순히 학회 활동의 발자취를 고찰하는 것은 넘어서는 사회적, 정치적, 기독교교육 현장적, 기독교교육사적인 다양한 역사의 흐름과 발자취와 밀접한 관련성과 상호작용 속에서 복선적으로 고찰하고 기술할 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to deal with the issues of writing fifty year of history of “the Korean Society for the Study of Christian Religious Education”(KSCRE hereafter) which was founded in 1961. It was formed as an informal gathering which a few scholars thought would promote the fellowship for the most part and of course the scholarship among scholars. It has grown, however, to have more than two hundred members in 2011. Therefore it is now needed to write a history in order to reflect on what had happened in the past and to look forward to embracing the future vision with hope. Writing history of the KSCRE at this point is a meaningful academic endeavor for the present members and those who will come after this generation. When we write history, perspectives of looking at history is crucial. Thus three kinds of perspectives this paper adopts are articulated in order. The kinds of perspectives in this paper are the ones of teleology, historical laws, and historical theories according to Ha Soon Cha. These three perspectives raise several important issues and questions in looking at history and those questions were used to write the history of the KSCRE. These sorts of discussion are synthesized ultimately in the redemptive perspective of Christian history that is about the revelation of God in history according the Jung Joon Kim. In particular, the methods used for writing the history in this paper are the ones of cultural history, character history, problem history, and oral history. It had been proposed that the four of the above methods must be used holistically by not eliminating any one of the methods. Moreover, through looking at preceding studies on the history of the KSCRE, we must not only looking at famous events that can and used to be grounds for argument, but closely rethink about forgotten or hidden events that we did not pay close attention in the past with carefulness and scrutiny as well. It is found out that when we write history of the KSCRE it is very important to deal critically with major events and issues according to each meaningful period. It is however more than just writing a history of one society of scholars. We must look beyond the history of the KSCRE and deal with it sociologically, politically, economically, so that we do not ignore the various realms of human history at the same time because they are all intricately related and interacted to each other throughout the history.
