교육목회의 실천 도덕적 방법의 모델 연구

국문 초록

교육목회의 목적은 기독교적 민주시민의 형성이다. 이 말은 제자화와 시민양성을 내포한다. 제자화는 자기희생이 따르는 아가페의 사랑이고, 시민양성은 정의, 평등, 균등한 힘의 배분인 상호관계적인 윤리이다. 인간역사의 현장에서 제자화의 삶은 한계를 인식하고 상호관계의 윤리를 본다. 이것은 제자로서 이 세상을 살아가는 시민의 모습이다. 교육목회는 신앙의 성숙과 보편적인 윤리의 상호관계성을 갖는 방법론이 필요하다. 그러기위해서는 제자화 교육에 도덕적 실천방법과 모형이 연구되어야 한다. 실천 도덕적 사고의 방법으로 브라우닝(Don S. Browning)은 5차원의 질문을 제시한다. 첫째는 비전적 차원으로 “우리는 어떠한 세상에 살고 있는가?”의 질문이다. 둘째는 의무론적 차원으로 “우리는 무엇을 하여야만 하는가?”의 질문이다. 셋째는 성향과 욕구차원의 질문으로 “인간의 만족을 추구하는 기본적인 성향, 요구, 도덕과는 무관한 가치들은 무엇인가?”이다. 넷째는 상황적 차원으로 “현재의 문화적, 사회적, 생태학적 상황은 무엇이며, 그 상황이 우리의 행동에 어떠한 걸림돌이 되는가?”의 물음이다. 다섯째는 규율과 역할의 차원으로 “우리가 마땅히 따라야 할 구체적인 규칙과 역할은 무엇인가?”이다. 이 대답은 도덕적 사고와 행동을 위해 규범을 자율적으로 만들고 실천하는 일이다. 그러므로 실천 도덕적 사고의 방법의 마지막은 행동이다. 이 실천을 위해 규칙, 역할 그리고 의사소통의 형태가 구성되어야 하며, 앞의 네 차원이 단계적으로 연관성을 가지며 비판적인 사고의 과정을 거쳐야 한다. 제자화와 시민양성교육의 상호관계성을 위해서 도덕적 사고와 행동이 이루어지고, 기독교 이야기의 비전적 차원과 의무론적 도덕적 실천의 상관관계 방법이 요구된다. 실천 도덕적 사고를 통한 규범과 역할은 제자화와 시민양성 교육을 이루는 방법이 된다. 결국 시민양성의 교육은 제자화의 도덕적사고와 행동을 부여하고, 자기희생의 제자화 교육은 시민양성을 보편적 사랑과 윤리로 완성케 한다. 그러므로 교육목회의 목적은 도덕적 실천방법의 상관관계로 그 목적을 실현할 수 있다고 본다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to examine the practical moral method for educational ministry to develop a Christian democratic citizenship. However, this definition may provoke a conflict between discipleship and citizenship in regards to today’s Korean educational ministry agenda. Many educational ministers define making disciples as their goal and hold that forming critical citizens is a goal of public education toward civil society. The ethic of sacrificial love is the norm and ideal of Discipleship while the ethics of citizenship include equality, distributive justice and balanced power. I find this as a limitation to the life of discipleship within the context of plural society. Therefore, the education discipleship should be willing to add the ethics of citizenship. From this perspective, my definition of the goal can be connected to Don S. Browning’s practical theological thinking on discipleship and citizenship. The five dimensions to practical moral thinking arise from the fundamental questions: “what kind of world do we live in, what is the present cultural, sociological, or ecological context and what should be the concrete rules and roles that we should follow?” This method is based on ‘a revised correlation method’ that deals with interpretations of the norms of human action and fulfillment found in both the Christian witness and typical human experience. This study describes three ways to improve educational ministry and praxis. First, I examine the correlation between education for discipleship and citizenship. Second, I analyze the ethical approach, which effectively clarify the role and method of educational ministry. Third, I develop three models of moral thinking and action, love of God and neighbor, and rule and autonomy based on practical moral thinking. In conclusion, citizenship provides the structure of moral thinking to the Christian life in the secular society. Self-sacrificial love of discipleship restores distorted situations in regards to the conditions of justice, equality and mutual ethic regard.
