국문 초록

본 연구는 다양한 관점에서 자아개념을 살펴보고 종교적 성숙과 심리적 성숙간의 자아개념의 관계를 통하여 자아발달을 통한 종교적 성숙을 촉진할 수 있음을 연구하였다. 학자들의 의견에 따르면 자아개념은 단 기간에 형성되기 보다는 인간이 태어나면서부터 발달하여 점차적으로 인간의 삶의 단계마다 여러 경험을 통해 형성된다고 한다. 따라서 각 단계마다 특별히 형성되어야 할 자아개념과 방법이 있다. 그리고 그러한 방법은 교육의 장에 따라 다양한 각도로 시행할 수 있다. 종교적 성숙을 위해 심리학과 성경적 관점에서 자아발달을 위한 구체적 방법들을 연령과 교육의 장에 따라 후속연구로 이어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The Bible tells us that there are many kinds of self in us (Rom. 7：21). They are positive and negative concepts of self. Christians should love positive selves and deny negative selves for Christian maturity. Therefore, it is very important to recognize many aspects of self. This study investigates the relationship of concept of maturity between psychology and religion and suggests several ways to stimulate religious maturity by psychological maturity through self development. The concepts of self are defined differently according to each scholarly view­philosophy, theology, psychoanalysis, socio­psychology, and developmental psychology. Many studies show that the concept of self is very important for both psychological and religious maturity. Psychoanalysis claims that a child? psychic world is formed by experiences with significant people in one? childhood. Therefore, one should recognize one? self in the unconscious world and control that in the conscious world. This study suggests various programs to recognize and reflect oneself in the faith community. Socio­psychologists say that one? self concept originates from one? birth and is developed by many social relationships. The quality of relationship is very important to build positive self­concept. Therefore, this study suggests that the church should form a healthy faith community for developing self­esteem which one? negative and positive self can be accepted. Growth psychologists also suggest that humans?basic motivation for self­actualization is developed from social influences with significant people in one? childhood. Therefore, faith community should take care of each member of that and provide educational programs for parents. The concepts of religious and psychological maturity are not exactly the same, but they have common elements of self concept. Therefore, religious maturity can be stimulated by psychological ways of self development. Self­concept is differently formed at each developmental period. Following studies can investigate concrete methods at each developmental period and educational context for self­development in the aspect of psychological and religious maturity.
