국문 초록

OTT 서비스는 시공간의 제약-없음으로 인해 ‘제로TV가구(Zero TV Household)’를 양산하며 텔레비전의 권위에 균열을 가하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 넷플릭스는 한국 텔레비전드라마 시청자를 포섭하기 위해 ‘한국 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마’를 2019년부터 본격적으로 스트리밍하고 있다. 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마는 6-10부작으로 구성되며, 공영성·선정성 등 다수의 제약을 받는 텔레비전드라마보다 자유로운 소재와 표현을 지향한다는 점이 변별된다. 또한 ‘정주행(몰아보기, binge-watching)’ 식의 감상이 가능한 까닭에 기존 텔레비전드라마와는 다른 드라마 문법이 사용된다는 특성도 있다. 그중에서 2020년 9월에 넷플릭스를 통해 공개된 <보건교사 안은영>은 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마의 특성을 체현한 대표적인 작품으로 ‘판타지, 코미디, 미스터리, 액션’이라는 복합장르를 표방하는 상당히 낯선 히어로물이다. <보건교사 안은영> 역시 6부작-45분 러닝타임이라는 비교적 짧은 시간 안에 중심서사를 보여주어야 하기 때문에 기존 텔레비전드라마와는 다른 양상을 띤다. 그러한 데다가 OTT 서비스 드라마의 특성상 시즌제의 가능성을 열어두고 제작되었기 때문에 <보건교사 안은영>은 상당히 독특한 서사구조를 보인다. 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마의 특성에 맞게 다양한 볼거리를 제공하며 만화와 게임의 특성을 반영한 판타지성을 토대로 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마만의 자유로움을 구현한다. <보건교사 안은영>은 웹툰과 게임 그리고 유튜브 등의 자극적인 볼거리에 익숙한 감상자를 유인할 만한 다양한 스펙터클을 삽입하되 그것을 극 전체를 통해 매우 다채롭게 활용하는 특성을 보인다. 넷플릭스가 오리지널 드라마에 제공하는 일련의 자율성을 부여받은 <보건교사 안은영>은 ‘괴이한 한국 여성 슈퍼 히어로’라는 상당히 낯설고 새로운 캐릭터를 제시한다. <보건교사 안은영>은 슈퍼 히어로에 ‘여성’이면서도 ‘한국’이라는 특수성을 부여하여 여타 히어로물과는 변별되는 특이성을 마련한다. 즉 <보건교사 안은영>은 괴이한 물질과 빌런이 출몰하는 혼돈의 세상을 ‘여성’이면서 ‘한국인’인 특별한 존재가 어떻게 극복해 나가는지를 보여주는 낯선 히어로물이다. 그러한 까닭에 안은영은 한국 감상자에게는 상처를 공유하고 우리를 구원해 줄 히어로이자, 다른 나라의 감상자에게는 한국적인 독특한 정체성을 구비한 특별한 히어로로 존재하게 된다.

영문 초록

OTT service has no space-time constraints so it mass-produces ‘Zero TV Household and it is causing a fissure in the prestige of television. In this situation, Netflix started streaming ‘Korean Netflix original drama from 2019 in order to win over the Korean television drama viewers. Netflix original drama consists of 6-10 episodes and it stands out because it aims for more free subjects and expressions compared to television dramas that are restricted in many ways like the publicity and sensationalism. Moreover, ‘binge-watching is available so it is characterized by how a different drama style is used in comparison to existing television drama. that was presented by Netflix in September, 2020 is a typical work that embodied the nature of Netflix original drama and it is a heroic genre that imitates the multi-genre of ‘fantasy, comedy, mystery, and action. also has to show a central narrative within the comparatively short time of 6 episodes-45 minutes of running time, so it displays a different aspect from previous television drama. In addition, based on the nature of OTT service drama, it is produced with open possibilities of season series so demonstrates an unfriendly narrative structure. In light of the nature of Netflix original drama, various attractions are constantly provided and based on the fantasy that considers the characteristics of cartoons and games, the distinct freedom of Netflix original drama is realized. displays the nature where various spectacles, which attract viewers that are used to stimulating attractions like webtoon, games, and YouTube, are inserted and applied diversely throughout the entire drama. , endowed with a type of autonomy provided in Netflix original drama, proposes an unfamiliar new character, ‘a grotesque Korean female superhero. , empowers the special characteristics of being female and Korean to a superhero and provides specification that stands out from other heroic genre. In other words, is a new form of heroic drama that reveals how a special figure, who is both a ‘female and ‘Korean overcomes a world of chaos infested with strange things and villains. For that reason, to Korean viewers, Ahn Eun Young relates to the wounded hearts of Koreans and stands out as a hero to save people and to the viewers of other countries, Ahn Eun Young exists as a special hero with a unique Korean identity.
