호서지역 청동기시대 중기 물질문화의 다양성 검토

국문 초록

호서지역의 청동기시대 중기는 송국리물질문화로 대표되는 바, 그 발생궤적을 추적하는 과정에서 자생설과 외래설 간의 논쟁을 불러일으킨다. 아직까지 일방이 압도적인 우위를 점하지 못하고 있는 상황에서 쟁점의 중심에 있는 휴암리물질문화에 대한 면밀한 검토가 요구된다. 이를 토대로 휴암리물질문화와 송국리물질문화의 관계를 새로운 시각에서 모색함으로써 호서지역 내 청동기시대 중기 물질문화의 다양한 양상에 대해 접근해 보고자 하였다. 검토한 결과 휴암리물질문화는 출현 비중, 분포권, 출토유물의 구성 등에서 송국리물질문화 만큼이나 선명한 특징들이 확인되고 있어 청동기시대 중기의 독립적인 물질문화로 인정할 만할 여지가 충분하다고 판단하였다. 나아가 호서지역 내에서 휴암리물질문화와 송국리물질문화는 서로 다른 분포권을 형성하며 유지되었던 것으로파악하고，물질문화의 다양성을 자극하는 직ㆍ간접적인 원인을 양자의 확산과정(접변) 속에서 이해하였다. 여기에 각 취락 내 물질문화 집단은 상대의 문화를 수용하는 정도에 따라 차이를 보임으로써훨씬 더 다양한 문화현상들이 발생하게 되었을 것으로 추정된다.

영문 초록

The Songgukri assemblage is a representative ruins of the Middle Bronze Age in the Hoseo region. There are two contradictory theories on keeping the generation process of this assemblage; Indigenous Development and Importation Models. The confrontation of these theories is based on different understandings of the temporal position of the Hyuamri material culture which possesses equal characteristics of the Early and Middle Bronze Age. Neither theory seems to reach a dominant conclusion and shows the limitation of a simple proposition, time. Thus a new perspective and multi-faceted approach to discern the differences of dwelling patterns between Hyuamri material culture and Songgukri material culture is required. Differences between the material cultures are influenced by various factors besides time. In this thesis I suggest the various factors that may affect differences such as hierarchys of rank(Economic Status), time, locality, and the residential group and I have examined these factors on the basis of the analysis of the various dimensions. According to the analysis, the formation time difference between the Songgukri material culture and the Hyuamri material culture does not seem obvious but they make a large difference to local characteristics and the residential group. In the settlement remains in which the two material cultures coexist, some remains distinctively keep their own tradition and the other remains display aspects of integration. In this respect, the individual material cultures may have formed varied cultural conditions in each settlement remains so that aspects of the two material cultures in the Hoseo region are assumed to be evident in the varied patterns. Through this discussion, the differences between the two material cultures of the Middle Bronze Age in Hoseo region could be regarded with the multi-faceted perspectives.
