새 관점의 칭의론을 극복하려는 최갑종의 시도에 대한 개혁주의 구원론 관점의 평가

국문 초록

본 논문은 최갑종의 칭의론을 개혁주의 구원론의 관점에서 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 그는 칭의론에 대한 전통적 관점과 새 관점 및 김세윤의 관점과의 절충점을 찾고자 노력하였다. 그의 칭의론은 새 관점의 전형적인 주장과는 다른 면이 있다. 그러나 개혁주의 구원론 관점에서 볼 때 네 가지 점에서 그의 칭의론은 문제가 있다. 첫째, 칭의의 정의에 법정적 의미 외에 다른 개념을 더 넣어서 확장시킨다. 둘째, 칭의와 성화를 개념적으로 구분할 필요가 없다고 여긴다. 셋째, 전통적인 전가 개념을 인정한다 하면서 그 의미를 왜곡시킨다. 넷째, 참된 신자들의 견인을 부인하며, 최종 칭의가 최후 심판 때에야 이루어진다고 여긴다. 그러므로 그의 칭의론이 갖는 이런 특징들은 그의 관점이 김세윤과 새 관점의 칭의론과 유사하며, 전통적인 개혁주의 구원론의 관점과는 다르다는 것을 보여준다.

영문 초록

This paper critically reviewed Gab-Jong Choi’s understanding about justification in terms of reformed soteriology. He tried to find a compromise between the traditional perspective of justification and the New perspective and Seyoon Kim’s perspective. His theory of justification differs from the typical claim of the New perspective. However, in terms of reformed soteriology, his theory of justification is problematic in four respects. First, he extends the concept of justification by adding other meanings beyond the forensic meaning. Second, he considers that there is no need to conceptually distinguish between justification and sanctification. Third, he acknowledges the traditional concept of imputation, but actually distorts its meaning. Fourth, he denies the perseverance of true believers and considers that the final justification is made only at the final judgement. Therefore, these characteristics of his theory of justification show that his viewpoint is similar to that of Seyoon Kim and the New perspective, and is different from the viewpoint of traditional reformed soteriology.
