전국 장애 아동 특수학교에서 실시되고 있는 학교구강보건사업에 대한 실태를 조사, 평가하여, 향후에 장애 아동 특수학교 학교구강보건사업의 올바른 방향을 제시하고 장애 아동의 진정한 구강건강증진과 구강건강관리 체계의 확립을 위한 참고자료를 마련하고자 전국 142개 장애 아동 특수학교 학교구강보건사업의 담당, 보건교사를 대상으로, 자체 평가서를 발송하고 회신된 설문서를 분석해 본 결과, 학교구강검진사업과 학교구강보건교육사업은 많이 이루어 졌으나 학교집단이닦기사업, 학교불소용액양치사업, 학교불소도포사업, 치아홈메우기사업, 학교구강보건실운영사업 등은 잘 이루어지지 아니하고 있었으며, 종합평점은 보통 정도로 평가되었다. 향후에는 장애 아동 특수학교구강보건사업의 발전을 위해서 구강보건교육사업을 보다 체계적으로 확립하고, 불소용액양치사업과 불소도포 사업을 보다 더 확대해야 하며, 가급적 모든 장애아동 특수학교에 구강보건실을 설치하여 구강보건전문가가 책임지고 전담하여 운영/평가 할 수 있도록 하는 방안이 권장 되었다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The author has surveyed for appraisal of the school dental health program on the children with disabilities, in order to make a reference for promoting the oral health on children with disabilities by showing the right direction and making national wide plans. Methods: 142 among 144 schools for disabilities were participated in the survey through the self appraisal method with the questionnaire by each school nurse. Results: All schools performed the oral exam, program and 92% of them did the oral health education, otherwise 69%, in toothbrushing program, 15% in fluoride mouth rinsing, 28% in fluoride application, 42% in sealant program and 36% in school dental clinic program, last year. Comprehensive appraisal score of the school dental health program for children with disabilities was revealed as 3.02±1.50 among 5.0 points of full scores and 3.52±1.45 in oral exam. 2.61±1.48 in oral health education, 3.07±1.60 in toothbrushing project, 2.73±1.13 in fluoride mouth rinsing, 2.79±1.47 in fluoride topical application, 3.08±1.39 in sealant program and 3.38±1.39 in school dental clinic program. It was recommended that such point as reforming the oral health education program, more extent for fluoride mouth rinsing and topical application programs, and supporting to establish and to manage the school dental clinic program to all school children with disabilities, should be considered, to promote the oral health for children with disabilities in Korea. It revealed relatively high scores in such items of the subjective, procedures, dental care supplies, and preparation of materials or equipments as a quantitative appraisals, otherwise low scores in such qualitative appraisal items as establishment of the goals, achievement of the goals, and the promotion of the oral health level, so it should be recommended to try for enhancing the qualitative appraisal scores more for children with disabilities. Conclusion: The proper school oral health programs for children with disabilities should be developed, with the consideration of the specific characteristics for children with disabilities, in Korea.
