북한 악단 공연을 통해서 본 김정은 시대의 음악정치

국문 초록

“사상전선의 제1나팔수”, “우리 당의 친솔악단이며 국보급 예술단체” 등은 모두 모란봉악단을 부르는 수식어들이다. 김정은의 아이콘이라 할 수 있는 모란봉악단은 북한에서 의미 있고 특별한 날에는 어김없이 공연 무대에 오른다. ‘음악정치’라 표현할 만큼 모란봉악단의 위상은 대단하다. 모란봉악단을 보면 분명 김정은이 보인다. 김정은이 직접 창단하여 이름까지 지어주었으며 공연 내용까지 지도한다는 모란봉악단은 단순한 예술단의 의미를 넘어선다. 김정은 시대 북한 음악공연 가운데 규모나 내용면에서 가장 손꼽히는 공연은 <대륙간탄도로케트 시험발사 성공기념 음악무용종합공연>이다. 2017년 공연이 모두 5회 개최되었지만, 실제로 공연횟수는 200여 차례가 넘는다. 이 공연이 평양 지역을 비롯해 전국순회공연으로 개최했기 때문이다. 2017년 공연의 특징을 한마디로 요약하면 대륙간탄도미사일 발사 성공을 축하하고 선전하기 위한 음악정치의 구현이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The Moranbong Band is accompanied with many different modifiers including “the first trumpeter at the ideological battle front” and the “Party s family band and national treasure-grade art group.” Called the icon of Kim Jung-un, the Moranbong Band never misses a chance to perform on the stage whenever there is a significant special event in North Korea. The status of the band is so great that it is called the means of “musical politics.” When you look at the band, you can see Kim Jung-un. It was Kim Jung-un himself that formed and named the band and has given his instructions for its performance content. Its significance is now over that of a simple art company. One of the most noteworthy musical shows of North Korea during the era of Kim Jung-un in terms of size and content is “Total Performance of Music and Dance in Celebration of North Korea s Successful Test Fire of Its ICBM Rocket.” The show was put on the stage five times in 2017, but the actual number of its performances is over 200 as it was a nationwide tour including Pyeongyang. The characteristics of the show in 2017 can be summarized as the embodiment of musical politics to celebrate and propagate the successful fire of the ICBM rocket.
