북한 『조선력사』(상)(1963) 교과서의 대외관계사 서술 검토

국문 초록

『조선력사』(상)(1963)에서 대외관계사와 관련된 서술은 약 40.8%를 차지하여 그 비중이매우 높다. 대외관계사 가운데 외적의 침입에 대항하는 반침략투쟁사 부분이 가장 많고, 대외무역과 문화적인 교류는 분량이 매우 적다. 고조선과 한나라의 전쟁, 고구려와 수나라‧당나라의 전쟁, 고려와 거란‧몽고와의 전쟁은 대외항쟁사로서 양적‧질적으로 매우 중요하게 서술되었고, ‘침략자인 한나라, 수나라‧당나라, 거란‧몽고’와 이에 대항하는 ‘고조선, 고구려, 고려의 애국적인 인민들의 투쟁’이라는 구도로 서술되었다. 고구려와 고려가 승리할 수 있었던원인으로는 ‘애국적인 인민들의 투쟁’과 ‘을지문덕, 연개소문, 양만춘, 강감찬 등의 활약’ 때문이라고 평가하였다. ‘애국주의’를 강조한 것은 역사교육을 위한 교과서로 편찬되었기 때문인 듯하다. 하지만, 지나치게 애국주의를 강조하는 과정에서 몽고에 항복한 고려에 대해서 오히려애국적인 고려 인민들의 투쟁으로 몽고를 물리쳤다고 반대로 서술하기도 했다. 대외무역에대한 서술은 대체로 간략히 기술하였다. 문화 부분에서는 외래문화의 영향은 의도적으로 감추고, 독창적인 요소를 강조하고 특히 일본 등에 끼친 영향에 의미를 부여하였다. 몇 가지 한계성에도 불구하고, 식민사학을 극복하고 대외항쟁을 강조하려 했던 당시 북한 역사학계의 현실을고려할 때, 한계보다는 긍정적인 측면이 더 많다고 평가할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Descriptions related to external relations in 『The History of Joseon』 account for about 40.8%, and the proportion is very high. Among the foreign-affiliated history, the part related to the anti-aggression struggle against the invasion of external enemies is the most, and the amount of foreign trade and cultural exchange is relatively small. The war between Gojoseon and the Han Dynasty, the war between Goguryeo and the Sui Dynasty, the war between Goguryeo and Tang Dynasty, the war between Goryeo and Qiran, and the war between Goryeo Mongolia were described as very important quantitatively and qualitatively as a history of external struggle. These contents were described in the composition of “the patriotic people s struggle against the invaders”. It was assessed that the reasons why Goguryeo and Goryeo were able to defeat the invaders and triumph were “the struggle of the patriotic people” and “the activities of Eulji Mundeok, Yeongaesomun, Yang Manchun, and Kang Gamchan”. However, there is also an erroneous description that Goryeo, who surrendered to Mongolia by emphasizing patrioticism, defeated Mongolia by the struggle of the patriotic people of Goryeo. The description of foreign trade is generally small, and only the foreign trade of Baekje in the 6th century, Silla in the 9th century, and Goryeo is described briefly. In culture-related descriptions, the influence of foreign cultures was intentionally concealed, ingenious elements were emphasized, and meaning was given to the influences that influenced foreign countries such as Japan.
