오프라인 폭력피해 경험이 사이버 폭력가해에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 오프라인 폭력피해가 사이버 폭력가해행동에 미치는 영향을알아보고, 이 두 변수의 관계에서 자아통제력이 조절효과를 가지는지 검증하는것이다. Agnew(1992)는 일반긴장이론에서 학대, 따돌림 등 부정적 상황에 노출되면 긴장, 우울 등의 부정적 감정이 발생하고, 이를 해소하기 위해 반사회적 행동을 보일 가능성이 크다고 보았다. 또한, Gottfredson과 Hirshi(1990)는 자아통제이론(비행일반이론)에서 자아통제력을 범죄를 억제할 수 있는 주요한 개인적인 요인으로 지적하였는데, 자아통제이론이 범죄의 유형과 무관하게 적용될 수 있는 일반이론이라는 점을 감안할 때, 이 이론은 사이버 폭력가해에도 적용할 수 있을것이다. 이에 이 연구는 일반긴장이론과 자아통제이론을 바탕으로 하여 오프라인폭력피해의 경험이라는 부정적 경험에 의한 부정적 감정의 해소방안으로 사이버폭력가해행동에 미치는 영향에 있어 자아통제력의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 오프라인 폭력피해는 사이버 폭력가해에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향력이 있었으며, 자아통제력은 모든 유형의 사이버 폭력가해에 대하여 오프라인 폭력피해와의 관계에서 유의미한 조절효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 위와 같은 연구결과를 볼 때 현실에서 폭력피해를 당할 경우 이에 의한 부정적 감정의 긴장해소 방안으로 사이버 폭력가해를 선택할 수 있어, 폭력피해예방이라는 근본적 방지책이 필요할 것이다. 또한, 자아통제력이 두 변수 관계에서 조절효과를 가진다는 점을 볼 때 자아통제력 수준에 대한 정기적인 점검이 필요할 것이며, 자아통제력 강화 프로그램 개발 및 도입이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of off-line violence victimization on cyber violence abuse behavior, and to examine whether self-control has a moderating effect in the relationship between these two variables. Agnew (1992) considered that when exposed to negative situations such as abuse and bullying in general tension theory, negative emotions arise, and there is a high possibility of showing anti-social behaviors to resolve them. In addition, Gottfredson and Hirshi (1990) pointed out that self-control as a major factor in deterring crime. Based on this theoretical background, researchers analyzed the moderating effect of self-control on the relationship between cyber violence and the experience of offline violence victimization. As a result, offline violence victimization had a statistically significant influence on cyber violence, and self-control had a significant moderating effect on all types of cyber violence abuse. In the case of violence in reality, cyber violence can be selected as a way to resolve negative emotions caused by offline violence victimization, so fundamental preventive measures of violence prevention are needed. In addition, considering that self-control has a moderating effect, it is necessary to regularly check the level of self-control, and to develop programs for juveniles in order to strengthen self-control.
