국문 초록

본 연구는 초등수학영재와 일반학생의 교우기대감과 학교생활적응정도를 비교하고 그 둘의 상관관계를 알아봄으로써 초등학생들이 보다 즐겁고 만족스러운 학교생활을 할 수 있도록 도움을 주는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등수학영재가 일반학생보다 교우기대감이 더 높다. 초등수학영재는 친구에게 기대하는 바가 크고, 교우관계를 일반학생보다 더 중시하는 것으로 보인다. 둘째, 초등수학영재가 일반학생보다 학교생활적응을 더 잘하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교우기대감이 높을수록 학교생활적응을 더 잘하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 교우기대감이 높아 친구에 대한 생각이 긍정적이고 교우관계를 소중히 여길수록 학교생활에 적응을 잘한다는 것을 의미한다. 초등수학영재의 교우기대감과 학교생활적응 정도가 정적 상관관계를 가지고 있으므로, 초등수학영재의 학교생활적응이나 교우관계에 대한 지속적인 관심 및 상담이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to compare friendship expectations and school adaptations of elementary mathematically gifted students and non-gifted students. The results of this study are as follows. First, elementary mathematically gifted students have higher friendship expectations than non-gifted students. Elementary mathematically gifted students expressed high expectations toward friends, and they considered more deeply the importance of relationships between friends than non-gifted students. Second, elementary mathematically gifted students showed better school adaptation than non-gifted students. Third, the higher friendship expectations they had, the better they adapt school. This means that high friendship expectation makes a positive thinking of friends, that makes school adaptation good. Elementary mathematically gifted students have a steady interest in school life, so that school and teachers need to pay constant attention and counseling regarding the school life of the elementary mathematically gifted students.
