국문 초록

본 연구에서는 환경경영전략을 규제대응전략과 관리개선전략으로 구분하고 환경성과 및 경영성과와의 구조적인 관련성을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 규제대응전략은 직접적인 경영성과에 부의 영향을 미치며, 관리개선전략은 경영성과에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 분석되고 있다. 내부환경성과와 외부환경성과는 환경경영전략과 경영성과의 관계에 대하여 유의한 정의 매개효과를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 관리개선전략이 경영성과에 미치는 직접효과와 환경성과에 의한 매개효과를 합한 총 효과는 유의적인 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 규제대응전략은 환경성과에 의한 유의적인 정의 매개효과에도 불구하고 경영성과에 미치는 총효과는 유의하지 않은 것으로 평가되었다. 따라서 환경경영전략이 궁극적인 경영성과에 미치는 영향은 환경경영전략의 직접적인 영향과 함께 환경성과에 의한 매개효과를 포함하여 종합적으로 평가해야 필요가 있는 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

This study classifies environmental management strategies as the reaction strategy to environmental regulations and the improvement strategy of environmental management and analyzes empirically the systematic relationships among environmental management strategies, environmental performance and business performance. According to analysis results, the reaction strategy to environmental regulations gives significantly negative effect on business performance directly. However the improvement strategy of environmental management gives no significant effect on business performance. Internal and external environmental performance gives significantly positive mediating effect on the relationships of environmental management strategies and business performance. Total effect, that is the sum of both direct impact of improvement strategy of environmental management and the mediating effect of environmental performance on business performance, turns out to be significantly positive. Though with significantly positive mediating effect of environmental performance, total effect of the reaction strategy to environmental regulations on business performance is not significant. Therefore it is necessary to analyze direct relationship of environmental management strategies and business performance together with the mediating effect of environmental performance on that relationship
