국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 현대 일본어에서 발견되는 연구개 파열음의 교체현상이 일본어의 어휘화(lexicalization)정도와 밀접한 관련이 있다고 보고 일본어 어휘의 핵-주변구조에 따른 계층화 와 유표이론을 기반으로 동일한 음운환경에서 일어나는 음의 교체(alternation)와 회피 현상에 대한 보다 포괄적인 분석을 시도하는 데에 있다. 본 연구를 통해 동일한 음운환경일지라도 더 토착화(lexicalized)된 어휘일수록 연구개 파열음 교체현상이 더 빈번하게 관찰됨을 확인하였고, 어휘의 토착화정도에 따른 충실성제약들 간의 재서열화에 의해 음의 교체현상이 일어남을 확인함으로써 일본어 연구개 파열음의 교체 현상에 대한 보다 일관성 있고 포괄적인 분석을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to reexamine the velar plosive alternation in connection with the degree of lexicalization in Japanese. Regarding that the alternation is an inevitable consequence of phonetic motivation, we adopted the core principles of Optimality and Markedness Theory. It has been assumed that the lexical elements in Japanese are internally stratified based on the degree of lexicalization. That is, elements in the lexical core fulfill all lexical constraints, which leads to the [ɡ]∼[ŋ] alternation, while those in periphery areas violate more universal constraints. Consequently, there are more items that violate constraints as we reach a periphery area. It also turned out that only faithfulness constraints can be reranked in the interaction of constraints.
