조선후기 연행록과 박지원의 열하노정

국문 초록

박지원의 『열하일기』를 중심으로 조선후기 연행록에 나타난 노정을 분석하였다. 연구의 대상은 17세기 이요의 『연도기행』, 18세기 김창업의 『연행일기』, 18세기 박지원의 『열하일기』, 18세기 서호수의 『연행기』, 19세기 김경선의 『연원직지』이다. 그리고 18세기에 제작된 『요계관방지도』를 통해 노정의 공간을 확인하였다. 시대에 따라 변화하는 사행사들의 노정을 통하여 요동지역의 중심 공간의 변화와 조선인들의 인식을 유추할 수 있다. 박지원을 비롯한 사행사들이 남긴 노정은 지도였고, 낯선 장소에 대한 안내서였다. 이 축적된 기록은 또한 중국을 알고 이해하는 데 중요한 종합 지리서였다.

영문 초록

Focusing on Park Ji-won’s Yeolhailgi, this study analyzed the itinerary of YeonHaengRok produced in the 17th and 19th centuries. The places included in the Joseon envoy’s itinerary were confirmed through the Yogyegwanbang-jido (Map for Preventing Diplomatic Relation with a Distant Country), which was produced in the 18th century. In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, the journey was the same, but during the Ming and Qing periods, the main route was Liaoyang, and later, Shenyang. It is possible to infer the change of the central space in the Liaodong area and the perception of the Koreans through the journey of the events that changed with the times. There was a slight difference, but the YeonHaengRok shows the ‘Eight East Station’ perception. And it also appears on the map. The track records left by Park Ji-won and other Joseon Envoys played a role of a map, guiding to unfamiliar places. This accumulated record also became important information for knowing and understanding China.
