농산물 도매-소매단계 가격전달의 비대칭성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 농산물의 도매와 소매단계(대형마트, 재래시장) 가격전달의 인과관계 및 장·단기적 가격조정의 비대칭성이 존재하는지 여부를 분석하였다. 분석대상은 국내에서 유통되는 주요 채소류 8개 품목이며, 분석 자료는 2007년 1월부터 2016년 9월까지의 순별(10일 단위) 가격을 이용하였다. 주요 분석결과를 보면, Granger 인과관계 검정을 통해 모든 분석대상 품목이 도매에서 소매시장인 대형마트와 재래시장 가격으로의 인과관계를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 일부 품목에서는 도매와 소매의 양방향 인과관계를 보였지만, 인과관계의 강도는 도매가격이 소매가격에 영향을 주는 정도가 그 반대의 경우보다 크게 나타났다. 비대칭적 가격전이 모형(APT)의 추정결과 중 단기조정에서는 대부분의 품목에서 양(+)의 비대칭적 가격전이 현상이 나타났다. 이는 대형마트와 재래시장 모두 단기(10일)의 도매가격 하락 시보다 상승 시에 더욱 민감하게 판매가격을 조정하여 초과마진을 획득하려는 경향이 있다는 점을 시사한다. 반면 장기균형이탈에 대한 조정에서는 단기와 달리 대형마트와 재래시장 모두 대부분의 품목에서 가격전달의 비대칭성이 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 장기적인 가격조정에서는 전반적으로 시장이 효율적으로 움직이고 있다는 것을 의미한다.

영문 초록

This paper analyzed whether there is the asymmetry in agricultural wholesale-retail price transmission for the large retailer and traditional market in Korea. It analyzed the 4 categories and 8 kinds of vegetables; Seasoning vegetables, fruit vegetables, leafy vegetables, root vegetables from January 2007 to September 2016. In the short-term adjustment relationship, positive asymmetric price transmission was found in 4 of the 8 items in both large retailer and traditional market. That is, they tend to adjust the selling price more sensitively when the wholesale price goes up to get an excess margin. On the other hand, in the long-term adjustment relationship, most items have no asymmetry in the price transmission both the large retailer and traditional market. This means that, unlike the typically expected results, two retail distribution channels are moving relatively effectively in the long-term. In comparison of the items, we found that the effects of price transmission are different in the large retailer and traditional market This implies that the price adjustment strategies differ depending on the distribution channels and the characteristics of the items.
