국문 초록

교양교육이 인간의 기본을 세우는 교육이라는 점을 고려할 때, 리더십 교육은 대학생들이 자신의 정체성을 성찰하고 자기 주도성을 확립하도록 도와주는 교양기초교육의 성격을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 대학 리더십 교육의 의미와 현실을 검토해보고, 대학 교양기초교육으로서의 리더십 교육의 가능성을 점검하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 A대학교의 리더십교육과정을 분석 및 평가하였다. A대학교의 리더십 교육은 대학의 교육이념에 기초하여 독자적으로 개발된 셀프리더십 교육과정으로, 타인에게 향한 시선을 자신에게 돌려와 스스로 깊이 성찰하고 본질적인 자존감과 자신감을 회복하도록 하고 있다. 운영 측면에서는 학생 주도적 참여수업 방식으로 이루어지고 있으며, 교수자와 학습자가 밀착되어 다양한 수업활동을 지원하고 있다. 프로그램 평가 결과, 세부 교육목표별 사전대비 사후수준이 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 특히 ‘확고한 가치관을 가짐’, ‘목표 달성 계획 꾸준히 실천’, ‘매일 최선을 다함’ 등 자기 자신의 변화 측면에서 크게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 교양기초교육으로서의 리더십 교육 가능성을 확인하였으며, 이를 위하여 향후 학습자의 요구를 보다 다각적으로 반영할 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Considering that the general education establishes the basics of human beings, the leadership development course that helps students to reflect on their identity and develop self-directedness could be one type of general education. The purpose of this study is to review the meaning of leadership development course for university students and to check possibility of it to be a general education. The case of A university was analysed and evaluated and the findings were as follows. The leadership development course has been designed as self-leadership course based on the university’s unique educational philosophy and helped students to return their attention toward a deep introspection to recover self-esteem and confidence essentially. The class has been operated student-directed way and instructors facilitated students’ participation and supported them. Program evaluation results verified the level of leadership competencies were significantly improved, especially the ‘having a firm values’, ‘action plan to achieve a goal ’ and ‘doing my best everyday ’ were greatly improved. In this study, the possibility of leadership development course as general education was verified.
