초등학교 학습부진학생 지원을 위한 미술과 교수·학습 방안 탐색: ‘즐거운 상상의 축제’ 개발 과정을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 학습부진학생을 지원할 수 있는 미술과 프로그램을 개발하고, 전문가 검토 및 예비시행을 거쳐 평가하는 단계를 통해 학습부진학생을 지원할 수 있는 미술과의 교수·학습 방안을 탐색하고자 한다. 현재 초등학교 학습부진학생 지원을 위한 프로그램 개발은 읽기·쓰기·셈하기 및 학습부진학생의 심리 정서적 측면을 지원하는 것에 초점을 맞추고 있고, 특히 미술과 프로그램은 심리 정서적 측면의 지원을 위한 수단으로서 활용되고 있어 미술 교과의 교수·학습방법론을 적용한 지도 방법은 아직 실행되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 미술과 영역 특정적 지식을 기반으로 학습부진학생을 지원할 수 있는 미술과 프로그램을 개발하여 학습부진학생지원 영역을 확장하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해, 미술 감상을 기반으로, 조형요소 및 조형원리의 교수 및 미술과 조작 활동을 지원할 수 있는 ‘즐거운 상상의 축제’라는 미술과 교재를 개발하였다. ‘즐거운 상상의 축제’는 선재, 면재, 양재를 활용한 작가의 작품을 감상하면서 주요 미술 개념을 학습하고 재료에 따라 단계적으로 제시된 조작 활동을 수행하며 ‘즐거운 나의 방’, ‘상상의 집’, ‘축제의 정원’을 완성하여 미술과 역량을 기르는 동시에 성취감과 자신감을 얻을 수 있도록 구성되었다. 프로그램 예비시행 결과 분석을 통해 수업 환경 및 교실 문화 조성, 작지만 명확한 학습 목표 설정과 반복적 훈련을 통한 성취, 학생들의 잠재적 어려움에 대한 교사의 민감성 및 대응 능력 함양, 과업 분석에 기반한 교수법 지원 등을 학습부진학생을 위한 미술과 교수·학습 방안으로 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This study is about developing art education-supporting program for the underachievers who struggle in academic areas in elementary schools, focusing more on the search of developmentally appropriate teaching and learning methods of art subject for them. So far, the studies have concerned providing underachievers with academic support through implementing reading, writing, and arithmetic content knowledge, while focusing the psychological and emotional support. In particular, art education programs have been exploited as a mere means of backing psychological and emotional plight which underachieving students might fall. In these reasons, teaching and learning methods of art subject which might help underachievers improve their abilities and skills while cultivating art knowledge have not been yet actively studied. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop art education programs which support underachievers for better academic performance, while activating and cultivating art education-specific knowledge, abilities, and skills. Based on the appreciation of art, art teaching workbook called ‘Joyful Imaginary Festival’ were developed to build the motor skill of hands and hands-eyes coordination and teaching of the art elements and principles. Through analysis of the preliminary implementation results of the program, the creation of class environment and classroom culture, achievement through small but clear setting of learning goals and repetitive training, development of teacher sensitivity and ability to respond to students potential difficulties, and support of teaching methods based on task analysis were derived as art and teaching methods for underachiever.
