국문 초록

본 연구는 미술관 교육프로그램 사업의 평가를 위해 구체적인 성과지표를 개발하고 적용하여 미술관 교육의 질적 향상을 모색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 미술관 교육프로그램의 평가가 정량적 현황 파악 차원에서 이루어지던 성과지표를 보완할 수 있도록 정성적 평가 위주의 질적 성과 결과를 도출함으로써 다각적인 평가의 접근 방법을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 국립현대미술관 ‘학교연계교육프로그램’의 일환으로 청소년과 교사를 대상으로 진행되는 <찾아가는 미술관교육>, 프로그램의 사업 평가와 그에 따른 구체화된 성과지표를 적용해보았다. 미술관 교육 성과지표 마련에 관한 성공 사례 및 실패 요인들을 통하여 분석된 시사점은 향후 미술관 교육의 질적인 향상으로 거듭날 수 있는 밑거름이 된다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (further denoted as MMCA) is the only museum and social institution funded by the nation; it also provides a variety of participation-based programs for visitors. Along with MMCA, the number of museum education programs has substantially increased over the past decade, thus the need in further research of not only their expansion, but also their effectiveness. The modern education system of museums - rather than simply offering a one-sided appreciation for artworks, provides learning opportunities through participation-based programs and their interactions. With MMCA advancing in its methods through research and application of efficient educational performance indicators, it will better reveal solutions for its educational dilemma. Through professional consultations and the solving of problems, the intentions of the educational performance indicators will be reflected. The study analyzed both the elements of success and failure in performance indicators at MMCA’s long-held data of adolescent museum education. Thus, the study could be used as a foundation for adolescents’ art education in museums – for the advancement of the education system in museums.
