대학 비교과 교육에 대한 여자대학생의 인식 및 발전방향 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 여자대학교의 학생을 대상으로 비교과 교육에 대한 인식과 비교과 교육 현황을 조사하고 분석하여 비교과 교육에 대한 발전방향을 제안하는 데 있다. 설문조사 결과, 비교과 교육 운영과 관련해 학생들은 학교를 벗어나 교외 현장에 투입되어 경험하는 ‘파견형’ 교육방법을 선호하였고, 비교과 교육을 실시하는 시기는 ‘학기 중 주간’을, 적절한 교육시간은 ‘2시간’을, 홍보 방법은 ‘문자’를 선호하였다. 비교과 운영방향과 관련해 학생들이 가장 중요하게 생각하고 개설을 희망하는 비교과 교육은 ‘취업지원’이고, 비교과 교육에 참여가 적은 이유는 ‘홍보 부족’, 비교과 교육의 활성화 방안으로는 장학금, 마일리지 등 같은 ‘지원금’ 활용으로 나타났다. 비교과 교육 참여경험과 관련해 학생들이 가장 많이 참여하고 가장 도움이 되었다고 생각하는 비교과 교육은 취업지원이고, 학생들은 다양한 경험을 쌓기 위해 비교과 교육에 참여하는 것으로 나타났다. C대학에서 운영 중인 비교과 교육프로그램별 학생 참여를 살펴보면, 취창업 지원은 ‘취업상담’, 학습지원은 ‘스터디그룹’, 학생상담지원은 ‘개인상담’, 의사소통 및 인성프로그램에서는 ‘명저읽기프로그램’에 참여가 높았다. 비교과 교육에 대한 여대생들의 인식을 바탕으로 시사점을 정리하면, 첫째, 비교과 교육에 대한 인식은 비교과 교육 참여유무, 학년, 전공에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈으나 내용상에 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내지는 않았다. 둘째, 서울 6개 여자대학의 비교과 교육을 조사한 결과, 비교과 교육은 유사하고 보편적인 특성을 보였다. 이러한 시사점을 통해 본 연구에서는 대학의 비교과 교육에 대한 발전방향을 정리하면, 비교과 교육의 교육목표 정립, 교과와 비교과 교육의 내용 연계, 자발적 참여와 내재동기를 고려한 비교과 교육 방법을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to propose a pathway to improvement for extracurricular activities of women’s universities. To achieve this goal, the current state and students perspectives were examined and analyzed. The the current state of extracurricular activities was divided into three parts: management, direction, and experience. First, the study result was about extracurricular activity management. The most preferred type and time to get engaged were ‘dispatch’ and ‘weekdays in a semester’. For one-time training, ‘2 hours’ were said to most effective, and the most preferred promotion method for extracurricular activities was ‘texts’. Second, the study result was about the direction for extracurricular activities. Since the reason for low student participation in the activities was ‘lack of publicity’, giving out monetary rewards such as scholarship or campus mileage and more various extracurricular activities available for students which will be able to support job employment after graduation were suggested as solutions. Third, regarding the participation experience of extracurricular activities, the activity that students were most involved and thought most helpful was the one that supported job employment. Most students participated in the extracurricular activities because they want to have diverse experiences. As to the student enrollment rate for the extracurricular activities of C university, students participated most in the ‘employment counseling’ among the employment and start-up business support programs, the ‘study group’ among the study support programs, the ‘personal counseling’ among student counseling programs, and ‘reading famous books’ among communication and good character building programs. The perception of extracurricular activities was statistically significant according to students participation experience, school year, and major. However, there was no significant difference in contents of extracurricular activities. The analysis of the extracurricular activity programs from 6 women s universities showed similar results. The direction for the development of extracurricular activities was discussed in the study in terms of setting up education and program goals, linking contents between curricular and extracurricular activities, and education methods boosting active student participation and intrinsic motivation.
