신학은 상상력을 필요로 하는가? - 존재적 사유를 통한 해석학적 신학의 기초

국문 초록

‘신학’(theology)은 문자 그대로 하느님(神, theos)에 대한 이성적 성찰(logos)이면서 동시에 하느님에 대해 성찰하려는 인간 실존에 대한 자기 이해이다. 20세기 이후 그리스도교 신학은 실존주의와 다원주의의 물결과 과학 시대와 제4차 산업혁명의 패러다임 전환 속에서 종교와 신체험에 대한 지속적 비판에 맞서 여전히 인간의 신앙이라는 태도의 정당성을 해명할 것을 요청 받고 있다. 오늘날의 신학의 위기는 역사주의를 넘어 19세기 근대의 과학혁명이 이루어 놓은 기술 사고로의 전환에서 진리 이해에 있다. 곧 인간이 인식할 수 있고 인간이 만들 수 있는 것을 넘어 “이룰 수 있고 이루어야 할 것”(verum quia faciendum)이라는 가능성이 진리가 기술과학 시대를 열면서 중세의 전통적 신학에 위기가 닥친 것이다. 그러나 오늘날의 과학주의와 과학의 한계는 하이데거의 선험적 존재론 이후 사물의 본질보다는 사물에 대한 양적 규정을 사명으로 하면서 과학적 지식이 지닌 역사성을 해석학적 순환 안에서 올바르게 인식하지 못한다는 점에서 비판을 받는다. 특히 제4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞으면서 과학적 진보와 인류의 기술 문명의 발전을 통한 도구적 지식의 증가는 상호주관적 목표 결정의 영역을 넘어 유의미한 사회적 존재들 간의 의사소통적 결정 과정에 과학적 합리성이 침투함으로써 생겨낸 해석학적 상상력의 위축을 보여주는 증후라는 점을 지적할 수 있다. 20세기 이후 새롭게 등장한 해석학적 신학은 과학적 인식 방식과는 달리 상호주관적 인식 방식을 정신과학의 원리로 해석해낸 결과이다. 신학은 인간의 상호주관적 인식 방식을 통해 얻게 되는 인간의 상호 신뢰성과 통교성을 전제로 초자연적 인식 대상인 하느님과 맺는 독특한 인식 형태인 신앙 행위를 학문적으로 규명하고자 한다. 오늘날 신학은 존재적 사유에 기초한 해석학적 신학의 긍정성을 재발견하고 발전시킬 필요가 있다. 존재 사유 방식과 존재 양식은 인간이 단순히 세상의 소유의 욕망의 나락에 빠지지 않고, 인간 안에 심어진 영의 능력, 곧 영적인 삶에로의 갈망을 되살려주는 새로운 인간과 새로운 사회의 희망이 되어야 한다. 이런 의미에서 21세기 신학이 나아가야할 길은 전통적인 호교론의 신학 흐름에서 벗어나 오늘날 주목 받고 있는 인문학의 연구 성과들과 만나 그들이 풀어 놓는 풍부한 인문학적 상상력을 복음의 빛으로 재해석하고, 이를 그리스 도교 신앙의 관점에서 풀어가는 신학의 해석학적 연구를 심화시키는 길이라고 생각한다.

영문 초록

Theology is literally the rational self-examination (logos) on God and, at the same time, is the self-understanding on human existence about God. After the 20th century, theology is requested to explain for the justification of human being’s religion attitude facing to continuous criticism on religion and new experience in the wave of existentialism, pluralism, science era and the 4th Industrial Revolution shift. The crisis of today’s theology is, over historicism, to understand the truth through the changeover of the 19th century modern scientific revolution, which is technique thinking shift. The crisis of medieval traditional theology has met, while opening technique science era, the possibility that beyond human being could realize and to make “something can/must do” (verum quia faciendum). But, the limit of today’s scientism and science, after Heidegger’s transcendental ontology, said their duty is quantative rule rather than its essence. It is also criticized as to wrong awareness about historicality that scientific knowledge contains in hermeneutics circle. Especially, at the 4th Industrial Revolution, the increase of instrumental knowledge through scientific development, humankind technology development are over the realm of inter-subjective goal decision, and are pointed as a sign of showing hermeneutic shrinking which arose from scientific rationality passing through communicative decision process between meaningful social beings. The hermeneutic theology which is appeared newly after the 20th century is the result of interpreting method of inter-subjective awareness from mental science principle, not the method of scientific method of recognition. Theology tries to investigate academically the acting of faith, which is the special form of the awareness with God;, the supernatural object of cognition, through the way of human’s inter-subjective awareness. Today’s theology is needed to rediscover and develop the positivity of hermeneutic theology which is based on existential reason. The method of existence reason and existence mode should be the hope to new human being and new society that revitalize the yearning for eternal life, which was planted the spiritual ability in human being, not falling into the bottomless pit of simple earthly having desires. In this sense, the way that the 21st century theology aims is, off the point of traditional Apologetic theology stream, to meet with promising ontology study outcome and to reinterpret their abundant imagination of humanities as to the light of Gospel, to deepen these hermeneutic theology studies in the point of the Christianity’s viewpoint.
