김정국의 思齋摭言과 己卯士禍에 대한 서술시각

국문 초록

본고는 중종조 기묘사림의 일원이었던 김정국의 사재척언에 대해 살펴보고 거기에 담긴 김정국의 기묘사화에 대한 서술시각을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 척 언은 김정국이 기묘사화로 파직된 후 고양 망동에서 은거하던 시절에 저술한 필기 이며, 거기에는 사대부의 일상을 담은 笑話뿐만 아니라 당대의 時事, 특히 기묘사화 관련 일화 및 인물이 다소 기록되어 있다. 척언에 기록된 기묘사화 관련 일화들은 후에 기묘사화를 기록하는 여러 저서에 全載되었다. 뿐만 아니라 김정국은 척 언외에도 기묘사화를 입은 사림들의 명부를 기록한 기묘당적을 남기기도 했는데 이는 기묘사림의 일원이었던 김정국이 기묘사화의 사실을 후세에 전하겠다는 의식이 강하게 작용한 것으로 보인다. 16세기 전반에 지어진 척언은 사대부 문인의 서재 혹은 생활공간에서 형성되어 그들의 일상을 기록하던 기존 필기류의 전통을 답습하고 있다. 그러나 한편으로는 기묘사화, 연산군과 노산군의 후사 문제 등 당대의 시사를 조명하여 시대정신을 발현하는 통로로서 필기의 지평을 확장하기도 했다. 시사에서 가장 많은 비중을 차지 하는 것은 기묘사화이다. 김정국은 기묘사화의 기화자로 조광조를 지목하며 그의 지나치게 급진적인 태도를 비판하면서도 그 이면에는 목표는 동의하지만 그 실현 방법에 대한 안타까움과 자기반성을 담고 있었다. 또한 자신의 경험을 바탕으로 무고로 인한 옥사를 경계하고 옥사의 부조리를 비판하며 기묘사화를 반추하는 한편, 자신과 동료들의 정치적 부침을 지켜보면서 영고성쇠의 무상함을 느끼고 그러한 상황을 ‘時運’이라는 두 글자에 담아 위무했다. 김정국의 척언과 기묘당적은 성종대의 신진사류인 남효온이 남긴 추강냉화 와 사우명행록의 체재와 닮았으며 이는 남효온이 당대의 정치적 상황을 비판했던 시대정신이 김정국에게 이어져 초기 사림파의 동류의식이 보다 강화된 것으로 보인다. 이러한 동류의식은 후에 무오당적, 갑자화적등으로 계승되어 사림파 도통의 계보를 만들어내는 근거가 되기도 했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine the viewpoint of description for Gimyo-sahwa(己卯士禍) by Kim Jeong-guk who is one of the Gimyo-salim(己卯士林) in the reign of King JungJong(中宗) after review Sajaechuckeon. Sajae-chuckeonwas written by Kim Jeong-guk when he was retired in Mang-dong(芒洞), Goyang(高陽) after he was dismissed from his position by Gimyo-sahwa, There are some anecdotes and characters related to the current events of the time, especially about Gimyo-sahwa, as well as recording the daily life of Sadaebu(士大夫). The anecdotes related to Gimyo-sahwa which is recorded on Sajaechuckeonwere quoted later in several books that recorded Gimyo-sahwa. Kim Jeong-guk also left Gimyodangjukwhich is the list of victims by Gimyo-sahwa, which is believed to have been a strong part of Kim Jong-guk s consciousness to tell the world about Gimyo-sahwa. Sajaechuckeonwhich was built in the first half of the 16th century is following the tradition of the existing Pilgi(筆記) who was recording their daily lives which was formed in the study or living space of Sadaebu. On the other hand, however, it expanded Pilgi’s prospect as a channel for expressing the spirit of the times by highlighting current events such as Gimyo-sahwa and the issues of Yeonsan and Noshan‘s Descendants. The most important factor in current events is Gimyo-sahwa. Kim Jeong-guk criticized Cho Kwang-jo for his overly radical attitude as a prime mover to Gimyo-sahwa, but behind that, he agreed with the goal but expressed regret and self-reflection on how to fulfill it. He also dwelt on Gimyo-sahwa with cautioning the trial by false accusation and criticizing the absurdity of trial, based on his own experience. Finally, as Kim Jeong-guk watched the political ups and downs of himself and his colleagues, he realized the transience of prosperity and decline and put the situation in two letters, fortune in time to honor him. Sajaechuckeonand Gimyodangjukfrom Kim Jeong-guk are similar to the Chugangnanghwaand Sawumyeonghangrok’s form from Nam Hyo-on who is Neo-Confucian Scholars(新進士類) in the reign of King Seongjong. It seems that the spirit of the times when Nam Hyo-on criticized the political situation of the time led to Kim Jeong-guk, who had a stronger camaraderie among the early Sarim-pa. This camaraderie was later succeeded by Muo-Dangjeokand Gapja-Hwajeok, which served as the basis for creating a genealogical tree for Sarim-pa
