국문 초록

본 연구는 입지계수와 변이할당 분석을 활용하여 전국 17개 시도별 숙박 및 음식점업의 지역 산업특화도(specialization degree of industry), 지역 경쟁력(regional competitiveness) 또는 지역적 비교우위(regional comparative advantage)를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 특정 지역의 특수한 요인이나 상황에 따라 해당 산업의 성장을 지원하기 위한 국가 자원을 어느 지역에 우선적으로 투입해야 하는가에 대한 정책을 수립하는 데 유용한 정보를 제공하고자 하였다. 2010년부터 2016년까지 자료를 바탕으로 입지계수와 변이할당 분석 결과를 종합적으로 살펴본 결과, 전남과 제주지역에서는 숙박 및 음식점업이 기반 산업으로 역할을 해왔으며 향후에도 특화될 수 있는 산업으로 나타나 지속적인 정부지원이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 반면, 산업적 특화도가 부족한 경기도 및 울산은 숙박 및 음식점을 활성화시키기 위한 노력이 필요하다. 또한, 산업 성장성이 저조한 서울 및 경북에는 숙박 및 음식점업에 대한 정책적 대응방안이 시급한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the specialization degree of industry, regional competitiveness, or regional comparative advantage of accommodation and restaurant industry in 17 provinces nationwide using location quotient analysis and dynamic shift-share analysis. The purpose is to provide useful information for establishing policies on which regions should prioritize national resources in order to support the growth of the industry according to specific factors or circumstances of a particular region. As a result of analysis, it can be concluded that accommodation and restaurant industry has played a role as an infrastructure industry in Jeonnam and Jeju and it is expected to be a specialized industry in the future. Therefore, it seems that continuous government support is needed. On the other hand, Gyeonggi and Ulsan, which are lacking industrial specialization, need efforts to revitalize accommodation and restaurants. In addition, it seems that policy measures are urgently needed in Seoul and Gyeongbuk where industry growth potential is low.
