대학 교양과정에서 건축학부생의 인문학적 소양 강화 필요성 고찰

국문 초록

이 연구의 목표는 대학 교양과정에서 건축학부생의 인문학적 소양을 강화시키는 교육을 담당해야 하는 필요성을 고찰하는 것이다. 이공계 대학생들에게 인문학적 역량을 키우도록 하는 것은 이들이 전공을 다양한 시각으로 볼 수 있게 할뿐더러 융복합형 인재를 필요로 하는 사회의 요구에도 부합하는 것이다. 디지털 미디어의 발달로 인한 문화적 산물이 삶의 중심이 되는 시대에 인문학은 이공계 학생들에게 유연한 사고와 상상력, 인간적 철학과 가치를 내재화할 수 있도록 한다. 대부분의 학문이 궁극적으로는 인간의 행복이나 만족에 기여한다는 점을 고려할 때 이공계 학생들이 인문학의 중요성을 경험하고 인문학적 상상력과 전공의 관련성을 인지하는 것은 중요하다. 우리나라는 개발 위주의 산업화 과정에서 건축에 철학이 배제되어온 경향이 있다. 건축에서 인간이 타자로 밀려나고, 특히 최근 건축에서는 우리 정신의 정체성을 찾기 어렵다. 서구화된 기능과 유럽형 구조를 무비 판적으로 수용한 것에서도 그 이유를 찾을 수 있다. 건축공간은 인간의 삶을 기록하고 기억을 담아내어 집적 (集積) 함으로써 과거와 미래를 잇는다. 따라서 건축공간에는 인간과 공간, 인간과 인간, 인간과 자연의 소통과 문화를 고려한 배려가 있어야 한다. 또한 건축은 삶의 방식을 규정하기도 하므로 인문정신이 구현된 건축철학 담론이 교육적으로나 학술적으로 이루어져야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 건축학과 인문학의 융합교육이 필요한데 우리나라 대학의 여러 여건상 쉽지 않다. 이 연구는 건축학부생들에게 인문정신이 깃든 인문학 수업이 융합교육적 차원에서 왜 필요한지를 고찰해보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 사용하는 건축철학 개념은 전통적인 것과 현대적인 것, 낡은 것과 새로운 것의 개념이 아니라 인간의 행복이 증진될 수 있는 공간으로써의 건축물의 정체성을 이해시키는 것이 왜 필요한지에 대한 고찰이다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to consider on the necessity of the education to strengthen the knowledge of humanities of architectural undergraduates in college liberal arts subject. To encourage science and engineering students to cultivate the competence of humanities is not only a way for them to view their majors in diversified perspectives, but also to meet the needs of society in need of fusion and convergence talents In an era where cultural products due to the development of digital media become the center of life, humanities allow science and engineering students to internalize flexible thinking, imagination, human philosophy and values. Considering that most studies ultimately contribute to human happiness or satisfaction, it is important for science and engineering students to experience the importance of humanities and recognize the relevance of humanistic imagination and majors. In Korea, the philosophy of architecture has been excluded from the development-oriented industrialization process. In architecture, human are pushed from the center, and it is difficult to find the identity of human spirit especially in recent architecture. The reason for this can be found in that the Westernized functions and European structures has been accepted uncritically. The architectural space connects the past and the future by recording human life, capturing memories, and accumulating them. Therefore, architectural space should have consideration considering human and space, human and human, communication and culture of human and nature. Also, since architecture defines the way of life, the discourse of architectural philosophy embodying the human spirit should be done educationally and academically. In order to do so, it is necessary to have a convergence education of architecture and humanities, but it is not easy due to the various conditions of Korean universities. This study is desire to consider why humanities course indwelling humanities spirit are necessary for the architectural undergraduate students in terms of convergence education. The architectural philosophy concepts used in this study are not the concepts of traditional and modern, old and new, but consideration of why it is necessary to understood the identity of a building as a place where human happiness can be enhanced.
