영문 초록

Language is an invaluable gift that a person is endowed with and in the implementation of which writing plays an extremely important role. For this reason, every nation tries to ensure consistency between its native language and writing. Unfortunately, changes in historical political processes sometimes lead to a renewal of language and writing. In the history of the development of the Uzbek people, in connection with various socio-political processes, the written system has changed several times. In particular, as a result of the Arab conquest, the Arabic script was introduced into the Turkic written culture, and as a result of the conquest of the Russian Empire, the Cyrillic alphabet. These writings contain a lot of scientific, literary, historical and legal sources that have survived. They are still being studied as an invaluable spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people. Of course, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the emergence of independent republics created the prerequisites for the formation of a new language and writing policy in the countries of Central Asia. Uzbekistan, which on October 21, 1989, granted the Uzbek language the status of a state language, and made an important step towards independence, in the first years of independence, determined its language policy, which corresponded to its development strategy, and adopted a national alphabet based on Latin script. This article analyzes the scripts that the Uzbek people used in their distant and near history, the socio-historical reasons for using these scripts, the need to reintroduce the Latin alphabet, the experience gained in this area for 25 years, the problems of implementing the national alphabet also ways to solve these problems.
