우리나라 물류산업 매출액에 미치는 주요 요인분석

국문 초록

삼면이 바다로 둘러싸인 우리나라는 국가경제의 수출입 대외의존도가 높은 개방경제이며, 이는 내수경제 보다 수출입을 통한 물류산업에 의존하는 비중이 높음을 의미한다. 물류산업이 수출입 물동량 대부분을 책임지면서 국민경제발전과 고용창출 등을 촉진시키고 있으며, 물류 SOC(Social Overhead Capital)로서 기능하고 있다. 따라서 우리나라 물류산업은 앞으로도 지속가능한 안정 적인 물류서비스를 제공하면서 국제 물류 공급망과의 핵심 연결고리로서 역할을 수행해야 한다. 이러한 배경 하에 본 연구는 우리나라 물류산업 연간 매출액에 영향을 미치는 주요 설명변수로서 종사자수, 사업자수, 유형자산 규모, 영업비용을 상정하고 장기균형 함수를 추정함으로써 설명변수들의 영향력을 계측하였다. 이를 위해 국토교통부에서 운영하는 국가물류통합정보센터의 시계열 데이터를 사용하고, 분석에는 공적분 모형, 벡터오차수정 모형 등 계량 모형을 사용하였 다. 요컨대 종사자수와 사업자수 등 고용 창출이 우리나라 물류산업의 성장에 미치는 영향을 추정하고자 하였으며, 유형자산 규모와 영업비용의 증가 등 적극적인 투자가 물류산업 매출액 증가에 미치는 영향을 추정하였다. 또한 본 연구는 물류산업의 연간 매출액이 호황이나 불황으로 인해 장기균형 시점에서 이탈했을 때 얼마나 빠른 속도로 장기 균형에 수렴하는가 장기균형 수렴 속도를 추정하였다. 장기균형 수렴 속도 추정을 통해 우리나라 물류산업 내에 자율적인 시장 조정 기능이 효율적으로 작동하고 있는지 여부를 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구는 우리나라 물류산업 발전에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 영향력을 추정하고, 물류산업의 장기균형 수렴 속도를 추정하여 자율적인 시장 조정 기능의 존재 여부를 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Logistics Industry plays a major role in Korea economy since trade dependence of Korea is very high in that three sides are surrounded by the sea. This study attempts to analyze the influence of some major factors affecting the total sales volume of Korean logistics industry using a co-integration method and a vector error correction model(VECM). In particular, this study attempts to estimate the long-term equilibrium function that determines the total sales volume of Korean logistics industry with difference conversion using VECM. First, this study uses the co-integration model to estimate the influence of major factors affecting the total sales volume of Korean logistics industry. This study uses the data published by National Logistics Information Center(NLIC). The analysis results show a 1.1% increase in total sales volume when the number of employees in Korean logistics industry increases at 1.0%, a 0.1% increase in total sales volume when the number of businesses in Korean logistics industry increases at 1.0%, a 0.04% increase in total sales volume when the total amount of properties including every plant and equipment in Korean logistics industry increases at 1.0%, and a 0.72% increase in total sales volume when 1.0% increase in total operating expenses in Korean logistics industry, respectively. In addition, if the current total sales volume is 1.0% higher than the one at the long-term equilibrium point, the total sales volume will be rather increased at 1.31% rate in the next term. And if the total sales volume is 1.0% lower than the one at the long-term equilibrium point, the total sales volume will be increased at 2.02% rate in the next term converging to long-term equilibrium. These results indicate that there is a tendency which the scale of boom tends to rather increase in boom season and sales volume rises naturally with market mechanism converging towards long-term equilibrium if there is a economy recession in Korea logistics industry. Therefore, this study suggests that it will be better to take measures focusing on market mechanisms than excessive policy intervention even if the nation’s logistics industry is suffering from a slump in sales.
