인천의 가치 재창조를 구현한 웹툰 개발 연구

국문 초록

인천은 168개의 섬과 천혜의 자연환경과 자유경제, 인천국제공항 등으로 교통, 국제 물류 및 문화 교류의 접근성이 매우 뛰어나다. 역사적으로도 한반도에 외국의 문물과 근대 문화를 맏아들이고, 한국(조선)을 세계에 알리는 관문 역할을 한 개항도시이다. 이 같은 과정의 산물은 ‘인천에서 볼 수 있는 최초의 것들’에서 보듯이 인천만이 가진 고유한 가치와 경쟁력이 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이를 발굴하여 발전시키지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 진입장벽이 낮고 대중의 호응도를 직접 확인할 수 있는 웹툰을 활용하여 인천의 가치 자원을 찾아내고 고유 콘텐츠로 발전시켜 나가고자 한다. 본 연구는 ‘인천 가치 재창조 공모사업’의 일환인 웹툰 <인당수를 아십니까?>를 중심으로 인천이 가진 고유한 가치인 지형과 역사 문화적 가치를 웹툰에 활용하여 지역 가치를 재창조하는 과정을 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 서론에서는 ‘인천 가치 재창조’라는 어휘가 나오게 된 배경과 의미와 사례를 살펴보고 활용된 방향과 결과에 대해 알아보았다. 또한, 웹툰을 활용하여 국내 지역 가치를 높인 사례를 분석하여, 인천가치 재창조 웹툰의 특성화를 시도하였다. 본 논문에서는 대중적으로 알려진 인천의 섬을 주 배경지로 한 심청전을 모티브로 하였으며, 심청의 딸인 효인, 효천과 용왕의 아들인 비추온과 미추홀 그리고 악의 축인 뺑덕어멈을 주인공으로 한 스토리를 창작하고, 웹툰을 개발하였다. 이는 인천의 주요 섬을 알리고, 인천만의 고유한 콘텐츠를 개발하는 과정을 분석하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Incheon has 168 islands and wonderful natural environments. It is near from Incheon International airport and has is very accessible in terms of transportation, international logistics and cultural exchanges. Historically, it was the first open port city receiving foreign cultures and modern culture to the Korean peninsula that serves as a gateway to introduce Korea (Joseon) to the world. The outputs of this process shown in “Table 2: Things you can see in Incheon” are the original value and competitiveness of Incheon. However, they are neither well-known nor well-developed. Accordingly, I would like to utilize Webtoons which have low entry barrier and can identify the response of the public easily to find value resources of Incheon and to develop them into the original contents. This study focuses on Webtoon “Do you know Indangsu?” which was produced as a part of “Value Recreation Contest”. The purpose of this study is to review the process that recreates the value utilizing geographical and historical value of Incheon. In the preface, the background and meaning of ‘Value Recreation of Incheon” is reviewed. It also contains case studies and the results of the utilization. By analyzing the domestic cases that enhance the value of the area using webtoons, characterization of Incheon Value Recreation Webtoons is tried. This article uses ‘Shimcheongjeon’ , the background of which is islands of Incheon, as the motif. It creates a story using some new characters such as Hyoin and Hyocheon (daughters of Shim Cheong), Bichuon and Michuhol (sons of the Dragon King of the Sea) and Pangdeokeomeom, the axis of evil and develops a webtoon. This study is meaningful in that it introduced major islands and analyzed the original contents development process.
