야담의 근대적 전환과 대중문화로서의 기획

국문 초록

본고는 한국 서사문학의 큰 흐름 가운데 하나로 조선후기 사회경제적 변모에 따른 다양한 인물군의 등장과 그들에 얽힌 이야기를 담아 낸 야담(野談)의 근대적 전환 양상에 주목한 연구이다. 특히 본고가 주목하는 부분은 조선후기 야담 가운데 일부가 한문단편(漢文短篇)으로도 지목되었듯 단편소설에 값했던 현실주의적 서사성, 사회 변화에 따라 등장한 다양한 인물 형상과 연계된 시대성에의 관심, 한문의 기록 양식이 국문 전용의 근대에 처한 문학적 대응 양상의 세 가지 방면이었다. 그 과정에서 확인된 1900년대~1930년대까지 야담의 근대적 전환 양상을 신문의 언론매체에 의해 호출된 근대야담의 등장의 시대, 구활자본으로 대표되는 근대 야담집의 시대, 야담운동으로 전환한 문화운동의 시대, 야담 전문잡지의 출현에 따른 문화기획의 시대로 대략적인 구분을 지어 보았다. 그리고 그 과정에는 근대의 도래, 한일병합, 3.1. 운동, 식민지 체제의 장기화가 영향을 미치고 있었다. 요컨대 전근대 야담의 국문으로의 전환, 야담을 통한 애국계몽에의 시대적 호응, 야담의 서사성을 활용한 근대 소설 대중의 양성이라는 시대적 흐름에 따른 근대 야담의 변모이자 기획으로 이해할 수 있었다. 이 점에서 본고는 근대 야담의 변모 양상을 시대별 구도로 잡아보려는 시론이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 1910년대 이후의 보다 세밀한 미시적 면모는 지속적인 확인을 통해 후고로 남기고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper is one of the major trends of Korean narrative literature, focusing on the emergence of various character groups due to socioeconomic changes in the late Joseon period and the modern transformation of the story of Yadam. Particularly, this section focuses on the realistic narrative that was worthy of short novels, some of which were pointed out as short stories in Chinese literature in the late Joseon Dynasty, There were three aspects of the literary response in the modern age. The modern transformational patterns of Yadam confirmed in the process were divided into the period of the storytelling which is represented by the roughly old fonts from the 1910s to the 1930s, the era of the cultural movement that transformed Yadam movement into the Yadam movement, I tried to summarize this, I could understand it as a cultural transformation and planning according to the flow of the times. That is, the transition to the Korean language of the pre - modern era, the response of the era to the patriotic enlightenment through yadam, and the fostering of the modern novel by utilizing the narrative of Yadam. This paper can be regarded as a essay trying to catch the approximate aspect of the modernization of the modern period. Therefore, it is necessary to confirm the confirmation of the microscopic aspect according to the flow of the period since the 1910s.
