척약재 김구용 시에 나타난 죽음의 형상화와 미적 특질

국문 초록

김구용(金九容: 1338-1384)은 고려후기의 문신으로 호가 척약재(惕若 齋), 자는 경지(敬之), 본관은 안동이다. 1384년(우왕 10) 행례사(行禮使) 로 요동(遼東)에 파견되었다가 명 태조에 의해 운남성 대리(大理)로 유배 되어 가는 도중 사천(四川) 노주(瀘州)에서 병으로 죽은 인물로 널리 알려져 있다. 고려후기 한시사의 큰 흐름에서 보면 척약재 김구용의 시는 당시풍의 작시 경향을 보이고, 또한 목은, 포은 및 그 주변 인물들 가운데 핵심적인 인사로서 주목할 만한 문학 활동을 하였다는 점에 의의가 있다. 김구용은총 13제 18수의 만시를 남겼는데, 그의 만시들도 대개 당시풍의 면모를 보여준다. 동시대 목은 이색이나 포은 정몽주, 도은 이숭인에 비하면 분량은 적지만, 척약재 특유의 문학성이 잘 드러나 있어 주목할 만한 시작(詩作)이 라고 할 수 있다. 척약재 만시는 대개가 동료나 그들의 부인․모친의 죽음을 애도한 ‘도붕시’ 계열의 것이어서 목은, 포은 등이 시도했던 당대 만시 창작의 흐름과도 동일한 현상을 보여준다. 한편 운남 유배에 동행했던 인사 들의 죽음을 다룬 시도 있어 특이하며, 유배 중 척약재 자신의 심경을 알수 있어 중요한 자료라 하겠다. 필자가 특별히 그의 만시에 주목하는 것은 만시야말로 척약재 시의 문학 성을 보여주는 가장 좋은 자료이기 때문이다. 성공적으로 작시된 만시는 망자를 잃은 슬픔과 아쉬움, 망자에 대한 추억 등이 매우 감성적인 필치로 그려지기 때문에 시인의 감수성과 문학적 능력, 시적인 완성도를 측정할 수있는 좋은 잣대가 된다. 목은, 포은, 도은, 척약재 등이 시작한 만시 창작은 조선조로 넘어가서 매우 활발하고도 중요한 한시사의 한 축이 되었다. 척약재 만시의 문학적 의의도 여기에 있다

영문 초록

Kimguyong(金九容) is the literatus in the late Koryeo Dynasty. His pen name is Chukyakjae. He is known for his death. He died on his way to a place of exile, Daeri(大理) in 1384. The founder of the Chinese Ming Dynasty sent him into exile when he was dispatched as a Koryeo’s diplomat. Kimguyong s Mansi(挽詩) is important to history of poetic creation in the late Koryeo Dynasty. Because he wrote poems under the influence of the Tang s poetical style and left remarkable works. He performed a key role among the brilliant poets of the day such as Jungmongju, Leesaek. Kimguyong left 18 poems of Mansi(挽詩) which are under the influence of the Tang s poetical style. Despite of small quantity compared to other poets such as Jungmongju, Leesaek, Leesungin, his poems are remarkable owing to excellent literary value. Kimguyong’s poems are related to ‘Dobungsi(悼朋詩)’, which expresses sorrow or lamentation about various people(friends, wife, mother, etc) s death. This is the same phenomenon as the creation of poetry in those day which is tried by Mokeun and Poeun. Mansi(挽詩) is the best source which shows that literary value of Kimguyong’s poems. That’s why I take note of his Mansi(挽詩). Great works of Mansi(挽詩) can become standard of literary completeness and poetic ability. The creation of Mansi(挽詩) which begun by Mokeun, Poeun, Doeun, and Chukyakjae passed down to the Chosun Dynasty and played an important role in history of poetic creation. This is the exact Literary significance of Chukyakjae’s Mansi(挽詩).
