초등학생의 협동학습 팀빌딩 프로그램 참여경험에 대한 질적 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 교실 안에 협동학습의 팀빌딩 프로그램을 적용하면서의 학생과 교사들에게 의미 있는 교육적 시사점을 알아보기 위한 질적 사례 연구이다. 이를 위해 서울의 한 초등학교 4학년 28명의 아동을 대상으로 협동학습에서 팀빌딩 프로그램이 가지는 효과성, 협동학습 내에서 팀빌딩 프로그램의 개념 정립, 그리고 프로그램 적용에 따른 여러 교육적 쟁점들을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 초등학교 학습자들은 협동학습을 일방적인 전달 위주의 전통학습보다 훨씬 더 선호하고 있지만 학급 규칙을 지키지 않는 동료학생, 사회적 기술 능력이 부족한 동료학생, 그리고 협동적 활동을 할 의지가 없는 동료학생으로 인한 불편함 때문에 협동학습에 대한 부정적 인식이 생기는 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 팀빌딩 프로그램에 대한 흥미도와 만족도가 높았고 특히, 모둠원간의 공통점을 발견하면서 함께 했던 활동들이 영향을 주었으며, 협동학습 중 규칙을 지키지 않아서 어려웠던 모둠원에게 사회적 기술 연습과 갈등 극복 프로그램이 효과가 있었다. 팀 빌딩 프로그램은 협동하려는 의지와 모둠원들에 대한 마음의 변화를 주는 유용한 프로그램이며, 팀빌딩이 제대로 이뤄진다면 협동학습 수업 진행에도 긍정적인 효과를 얻게 될 것이라는 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The following is a qualitative case study which aimed to find meaningful educational insights for students and teachers as they apply the cooperative learning teambuilding program in the context of an elementary school classroom. In order to achieve this, a study was carried out on 28 4th year students at a private elementary school (in Seoul), where various educational issues were analyzed in terms of: the effectiveness of the cooperative learning teambuilding program, the establishment of teambuilding concepts in the context of cooperative learning, and the program’s application. Although the results of this study showed that elementary school students much preferred cooperative learning to the traditional methods of onesided deliverycentered learning, due to problems caused by some fellow students not abiding by the learning rules, lacking in social abilities, and having no desire to cooperate in activities, negative issues related to cooperative learning were revealed. In terms of excitement and satisfaction levels, the cooperative learning teambuilding program scored highly. All participants discovered shared perspectives whilst being influenced by cooperative activities, and all participants who struggled due to a failure to abide by the cooperative learning rules found the social skills practice and conflict resolution programs to be effective. Additionally, as learners encountered the above programs, they became more willing to be cooperative, showed improvement in their social skills, and also improved in their relationships with all other participants. The teambuilding program was useful for providing a change in perspective for all participants as it strove towards cooperation, and if properly implemented, it is likely that teambuilding could positively affect cooperative learning classes.
