국문 초록

본 연구는 물이 풍수와 어떠한 관련성을 바탕으로 구성되었는지 형세적 관점과 이기적 관점에서 살펴본다. 물에서 생명이 탄생하였고 생명의 유지도 물에 의해 이루어진다. 인류의 탄생과 문명의 기원은 강과 밀접한 관련성을 가졌다. 이러한 특징들은 풍수인식조차도 그대로 수용하는 모습을 보인다. 풍수의 최종적인 의미는 혈(穴)을 통해 현실에 안착하게 되는데, 물이 바로 그 한축을 차지하는 것이다. 음양론이 풍수구성논리의 핵심적인 의미를 갖는데 있어서 물은 곧 양(陽)을 상징하는 물질이기 때문이다. 이러한 이유들로 유가(儒家)에서는 물을 사물의 이치를 밝히는 작용으로, 불가(佛家)에서는 자연세계와 천상의 세계가 열리는 것으로, 도가(道家)에서는 최상의 선으로 각각 인식하였던 것이다. 따라서 물은 풍수를 구성하는 핵심요소로써, 형세론과 이기론의 관점에서 보다 합리적이고 논리적인 틀 속에서 구체화되었다.

영문 초록

In this study, what is the correlationship between the water and Feng shui is enlightened from the view of geomorphic condition(形勢) and Lichi(理氣) theory. Life has been born and continued through the water. The origin of human and civilization is intimate relation with river. The Nile River, the Yellow River, the Tigris River and the Euphrates River has been known as the cradle of human civilization. This features are contained in the recognition of Feng shui. Ultimate purpose of Feng shui is to find out realistic solutions and take comfort life through Hyeol(穴). Yin yang philosophy is at a salient position in the logic of Feng shui. And the water is to be a crucial factor because the water is the matter belonging to Yang(陽). With these reasons, the water is cognized as the root of creation in Confucianism, and as an universal opening of heaven and nature in Buddhism, and as the most high-leveled virtue in Taoism. As the water has various features, it appears in diverse expressions in the reality. The continuance and creation of human life is based on the water, and the origin and progress of civilization lies at the root of the water. With the same logic, the water and wind made the logic of Feng shui realized from the view of geomorphic condition and Lichi theory, by playing a fundamental role.
