국문 초록

본 연구는 다층구조방정식(Multilevel Structural Equation Model: MSEM)을 이용하여 학생 및 학생수준에서 자기효능감과 학습 환경이 수학흥미에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자, 한국과 싱가포르의 PISA 2012 자료를 분석하였다. 연구모형의 적합성 확인을 위해 부분포화 모형방법(partially-saturated model method)을 적용하였다. 연구결과, 학생수준에서는 한국과 싱가포르, 두 국가에서 공통적으로 수학적 자기효능감, 교사의 학습도음이 수학흥미에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한, 교사의 학습도움이 수학적 자기효능감을 매개로 수학 흥미에 정적인 영향을 주었다. 싱가포르의 결과에서는 한국과 달리 수학수업 분위기가 수학적 자기효능감을 매개하여 수학흥미를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 학교수준에서는 두 국가 모두, 수학수업 분위기가 수학적 자기효능감에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으나, 싱가포르와 달리 한국 학교수준의 수학수업 분위기는 학교 전체의 수학적 자기 효능감을 매개하여 학교의 평균적인 수학흥미에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In the present study, the effects of educational environment and self-efficacy on student s interest in mathematics were tested using multilevel structural equation models (MSEM). For the purpose, school-level and student-level variables were analyzed using the sample data of Korean and Singapore in PISA 2012. To evaluate the goodness of fit for each level, the partially-saturated model method was applied. Results showed as follows. 1) At the student level, mathematical self-efficacy and teacher s help for learning affected the mathematical interests in both Korea and Singapore. Teacher s help for learning also had a positive effect on mathematical interest through mathematical self-efficacy. On the other hand, the mathematics class atmosphere increased mathematical interests through mathematical self-efficacy in Singapore. 2) At the school level, in both countries, the school mathematics class atmosphere had a positive effect on the school-level mathematical self-efficacy. In addition, the school atmosphere of mathematics class increased school-level mathematical interests through school-level mathematical self-efficacy in Korea.
