일본근대검정교과서의고대 한반도관련기술분석

국문 초록

현재의 일본역사교과서에 대해서 일본군위안부, 남경대학살 등의 언급이 없는 ‘결실(缺失) 된 역사’ 서술이며, 신화의 강조에 의해 사실과 혼동되는 ‘신국 (神國)’을 강조하여 전쟁책임론을 회피하고 교육칙어 전문을 싣는 ‘천황중심’ 서술이라는 지적이 있다. 이를 바꾸어 천황중심사관이며 침략주의사관이고 독선적 문화우월주의사관이며 영웅엘리트 주의 즉 남성중심주의사관이라고도 할 수 있을 것이다. 이와 같은 현상의 연원에는 무엇이 있었을까. 메이지 이후의 근대일본은 1872년 8월에 ‘학제령 (學制令)’ 을 선포하여 전 국민에게 초등교육을 받도록 하는 학교제도를 만들어 본격적인 ‘국민 만들기’에 나선다. 그런 점에서 메이지 초기 학제령 이후의 근대교과서 변천과 그 실태에 대해 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 종래의 연구에서는 교과서 변천과 그 의미에 대한 제도사적인 연구는 존재하지만 실제 교과서의 분석은 드물었다. 그래서 본고에서는 근대 일본의 초기 교고서 제도를 넘어 검정제 교과서 내용 그 자체의 분석을 시도했다. 그 결과 현재의 일본역사교과서문제는 근대초기 메이지 시대의 일본역사교과서의 실제적 분석과 관계하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Current Japanese history textbooks present insufficient historical descrip-tion and exclude historical facts such as the Korean comfort women drafted into the Japanese forces and the Nanjing Massacre. With an emphasis on the concept of a Divine Land (神國) and the resulting confusion with historical facts created by stressing mythology, Japan avoids its war responsibilities and its modern textbooks comprise an emperor-centered ideology, including the full text of the Imperial Rescript on Education (敎育勅語) . In general, such de-scriptions support a Japanese emperor-centered view of history, an im-perialistic view of history, historical view of opinionated cultural supremacy, and hero elitism, namely an androcentric view of history. Modern Japan, as part of the Meiji Era modernization, declared the School System Decree (學制令) in August 1872, under which a school system was es-tablished to provide all citizens an elementary school education, an integral component of Japan s nation building. Therefore, there is a need to examine the changes in and contexts surrounding modern Japanese textbooks since the implementation of the School System Decree. Although studies have ex-amined the textbooks in terms of institutional history, few analyses of the ac-tual textbooks were found. For that reason, this study attempts to directly an-alyze the contents of the authorized textbooks from modern Japan s initial textbook system. As a result, it demonstrates that the origin of the problems with Japanese history textbooks can be identified through an actual analysis of Japanese history textbooks from the Meiji Era (1868~1912) .
