다솔사와 항일 비밀결사 卍黨 - 한용운, 최범술, 김범부, 김동리 역사의 단면 -

국문 초록

본 고찰은 다솔사(경남, 사천)와 불교계 항일 비밀결사로 알려진 卍黨과의 상관성을 정리한 글이다. 다솔사는 1,500년 역사를 갖고 있는 고찰이지만, 근대기에 와서는 불교 독립운동의 관점에서도 중요한 대상이 되었다. 그는 최범술이 주지로 있으면서 전개된 역사이다. 최범술은 다솔사가 위치한 사천 출신으로 3·1운동 참가, 해인사 주지, 제헌국회 의원, 불교 총무원장, 해인대(현, 경남대) 설립자 등다양한 행보를 간 인물이다. 그는 일제하에는 한용운을 추종하면서 불교청년운동을 주도하였다. 그는 조선불교청년총동맹의 집행위원장과 만당의 당원이었다. 그런데 만당은 내분으로 1933년 자진 해소되 었다. 그러나 만당 당원들은 최범술이 주지로 있었던 다솔사에 왕래를 하면서 민족의식을 유지하였다. 당원이었던 김법린, 허영호가 다솔사에 머물기도 했다. 그리고 1930년대 중반 다솔사는 불교전문 강원과 광명학원을 설립하여 학승과 지역 어린이를 교육시켰다. 강원에는 동양학자인 김범부가 있었고, 광명학원에는 김범부의 동생인 소설가 김동리가 교사로 있었다. 그리고 다솔사는 애국지사, 독립운동가, 문학인, 지식인, 승려 등이 왕래하는 경남지방의 명소가 되었다. 즉, 민족의식을 창출하고, 민족 운동을 추진하는 거점이었다. 그래서 일제 경찰은 늘 감시를 하였다. 이런 전제하에서 다솔사는 민족운동, 항일의 역사가 짙게 배어 있다. 본 고찰은 이런 역사와 문화를 자료, 증언에 의지하여 정리한 글이다. 이 글이 한용운, 최범술, 김범부, 김동리를 비롯한 근대기 지식인 연구와 다솔사의 근대사 정리에 도움이 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

This review summarizes the relationship between Dasolsa Temple(Sachuan in Gyeongnam) and Mandang, which is known as a Buddhist-style anti-Japanese resistance group. Despite the fact that it has a history of 1,500 years, it has also become an important object in the modern period from the standpoint of the Buddhist independence movement. He is a history that has been developed with the help of Choi BumSul. Choi Bumsul is a member of Native Sachuan, where is Dasolsa Temple located, and has participated in a variety of activities such as participating in the March 1 Movement, Haeinsa Temple, a member of the Constitutional Assembly, the General Secretary of Buddhism, and the founder of Haein Dae (Kyungnam University). He led the Buddhist youth movement following Han Yongwoon under Japanese rule. He was the executive chairman of the Chosun Buddhist Youth Alliance and a member of the Mandang Party. By the way, the self-sacrifice was resolved in 1933 by internal affair. However, the members of the per capita kept visiting the national ceremony when they visited the ceremony where Dasolsa Temple. Kim bunglin and Huh Youngho,who were party members, stayed at the ceremony. And in the mid-1930s, Daithol founded the Buddhist Gangwon(講院) and Gwangmyeong(광명학원) that to educate monk studying and local children. There was Kim Bumbu, an orientalist in Gangwon, and Kim Dongri, a younger brother of Kim Bumbu, was a teacher. And it became a famous place of Gyeongnam province where patriot governors, independence activists, literati, intellectuals, and monks go and go. In other words, it was a base for creating national consciousness and promoting national movement. So the Japanese police always monitored. Under this presupposition, the history of the national movement and the anti-Japaneseism is deeply inferred. This review summarizes this history and culture based on data and testimony.
