조선 후기 斗陵 일대에 대한 공간 인식의 변화와 그 의미

국문 초록

본고는 조선 후기 斗陵 일대에 대한 공간 인식의 변화를 통시적으로 살피고자 하였다. 두릉 일대는 풍광이 수려하고 도성에서의 접근이 용이하여 17세기 先塋과 別墅 조성지로 주목받았고, 정치적으로 실의한 문인들이 은거 지향을 표방하며 임시 거처를 마련했던 지역이었다. 申翊聖의 東淮 별서, 金堉의 瀟川 별서 등을 예로 들 수 있다. 18세기를 거쳐 19세기에 이르러 丁若鏞･徐有榘와 같은 실학파 문인들이 두릉에 자리 잡았다. 이들은 두릉의 實景을 시에 담고 일상생활 공간으로서 두릉을 詩化했다. 또한 두릉에서 직접 林圃를 경영하며 생활의 터전으 로서 이곳을 가꾸어 나갔다. 이전 시기 이곳이 이상화된 임시적인 거처였다면, 이때에 와서는 실제적인 삶의 공간이 된 것이다. 19세기 중･후반기에는 이들의 후배 문인인 洪錫謨･申弼永 등이 두릉을 찾아 유람시를 남겼는데, 이들은 신익성･정약용･서유구가 남긴 자취를 찾아 이들을 떠올렸고, 두릉을 文星이 모인 공간으로 기억했다. 이 지역을 대표하는 몇몇 인물이 사람들의 의식 속에 각인되면서 두릉은 유람의 공간으로서도 가치를 얻게 된 것이다.

영문 초록

This research intends to identify diachronic changes of spatial recognition towards Dureung(斗陵) and its vicinity during the late Joseon dynasty. In the 17th century, Dureung(斗陵) and its neighboring areas gained attention of the public as a great site for family burial ground(先塋) and farming villa(別墅) due to its convenient access to the capital city. It was a place reflecting the desires of scholar-officials to live in seclusion. There were examples such as Shin, Ikseong(申翊聖)’s Donghoi(東淮) farming villa, Kim, Yuk(金堉)’s Sochun(瀟川) farming villa, etc. In the 19th century after going through the 18th century, scholars of Positive School settled in these areas such as Jeong, Yakyong(丁若鏞)･ Seo, Yugu(徐有榘). They expressed the scenary of Dureung(斗陵) in their poems and also poetized Dureung(斗陵) as a place for everyday life of ordinary people. Also, they ran forest farms(林圃) in Dureung(斗陵) to realize their awareness of Gyeong-se-je-min(經世濟民), which indicates “maintaining order in the world and the people will be relieved”. In the previous eras, Dureung(斗陵) was an idealized and temporary residence but during this time period, it has become actual living space. During the middle and late 19th century, their junior scholars such as Hong, Seokmo(洪錫謨)･Shin, Pilyoung(申弼永) came to Dureung(斗陵) and left several poems of sightseeing. They searched for traces of Shin, Ikseong(申翊聖)･Jeong, Yakyong(丁若鏞)･Seo, Yugu(徐有榘) to think of them and remembered Dureung(斗陵) as space of great literary circles. As several people representing these areas were seared into people’s consciousness, Dureung(斗陵) gained its value as a place for sightseeing.
