중고령층 연령집단별 물질적 결핍 궤적 및 궤적집단 비교연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 중고령층을 대상으로 연령집단별로 물질적 결핍 궤적집단을 유형화하고 집단 소속을 결정하는 요인들을 분석하였다. 특히 중고령층을 하나의 단일한 집단으로 간주하지 않고, 연령집단에 따라 물질적 결핍 경험이 다르게 나타날 수 있음을 고려하여, 55-64세 중년집단, 65-74세 전기노 인집단, 75-84세의 후기노인 집단으로 구분하여 분석을 진행하였다. 한국복지패널조사 3차부터 11차 년도까지 데이터를 집단중심추세모형(group-based trajectory model)을 사용하여 각 연령집 단별로 궤적집단을 추정하였다. 중년에서는 [물질적 결핍 무경험], [물질적 결핍 저위험], [물질적 결핍 고위험]유형을, 전기노인에서는 [물질적 결핍 무경험], [물질적 결핍 급속 고위험 진입], [물질적 결핍 경험 감소], [물질적 결핍 고위험]유형을, 후기노인에서는 [물질적 결핍 무경험], [물질적 결핍 이행], [물질적 결핍 경험 감소], [물질적 결핍 고위험]유형을 발견하였다. 교육수준, 건강수준및 소득활동이 궤적집단을 결정하는 유의한 요인으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 중고령 층의 빈곤을 연령집단별로 다각도에서 분석하여 이들을 고려한 사회복지의 실천적, 정책적 함의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study examines trajectories of experiences on material hardships among mid and old age and the main socioeconomic determinants on the memberships of each trajectory. We use Korea Welfare Panel Study from wave 3 to wave 11 along with group-trajectory modeling and find different group memberships by three different age groups: for mid age of 55-64, [no experiences on material hardships], [low risk of material hardships], [high risk of material hardships]; for old age 65-74, [no experience on material hardships], [rapid proceeding to high risk of material hardships], [declining material hardship experience], [high risk of material hardships]; for old-old age 75-84, [no experience on material hardships] [material hardship transition], [declining material hardship experience], [high risk of material hardships]. Education, health, income activities are considered as significant factors determining trajectory group memberships. This study contributes to the current literature by providing insights on various dimensions of poverty for mid and old age and policy implication for anti-poverty program for them.
