국문 초록

이윤주는 20년 남짓 연희단거리패 단원으로, 가마골소극장 연출가로, 극단 가마골 대표로 활동한 연극인이다. 본고에서는 그녀가 연출한 작품들 중에 대표 작품이라고 할 수 있는 <안데르센>에 나타난 연출 특징을 살펴보았다. <안데르센>에 나타난 연출 특징은 크게 3가지로 살펴볼 수 있다. 첫째, 소극장 뮤지컬을 시도한 것이다. 평소 음악이 말의 힘을 부각시킬 수 있다고 생각한 그녀는 각 장의 주요 내용을 노래로 표현하였다. 대사와 노래를 이야기의 주 전달 매체로 선택한 것이다. 둘째, 시간과 이미지 중첩을 통해 장면을 입체적으로 구성한 것이다. 입체적 장면의 구성을 위해 이윤주는 과거와 현재를 한 무대 위에 두기도 하였고, 같은 인물을 인형과 배우로 함께 두기도 하였다. 그리고 두 배우의 대사를 동시에 발화하게 하였으며 다양한 오브제를 활용하여 환상적인 분위기를 연출하였다. 셋째, 무대장치를 독특하게 하였다. 무대 뒤편 가운데에 이중 막을 설치하여 앞의 막은 작품의 배경으로, 그림자극의 장치로, 극중극 인물들의 등 ․ 퇴장 통로로 연출하였 고, 뒤의 막은 타오르는 불길로 연출하였다. 이윤주는 이와 같은 연출을 통하여 <안데르센>을 더욱 동화적이며, 입체감 있게 표현하였다.

영문 초록

Lee, Youn Ju is theatrical actress who played various roles in theatrical play including a member of the Yeonhee Street Theater Troupe, director of Hangyeol Art Hall (formally, Gamagol Theater) and representative director of Gamagol Theater Troupe over the last 20 or so years. This thesis examined the characteristics of her directing of theatrical plays as illustrated in , which could be deemed a representative work among the works she directed thus far. Directing characteristics exhibited in can be divided largely into 3 aspects. Firstly, she attempted small theater musical. As she always believed that music can highlight the power for words, she expressed the key contents of each chapter through songs. That is, she chose to use dialogue and songs as the key media for the conveyance of the story. Secondly, she 3-dimensionally composed the scenes through reiteration of time and image. For the composition of 3-dimensional scenes, Lee, Youn Ju displayed both past and present on the same stage and presented the same character with mannequin and actor. Moreover, she directed 2 actors to articulate dialogues simultaneously and fantastic ambience by using a diverse range of objet. Thirdly, she uniquely constituted the stage. By installing double screen at the center of the rear part of the stage, she used the front screen as the background of the work, device for shadow play and passageway for appearance and exit for the characters of the theatrical play while the rear screen was used to creation of burning flame. Lee, Youn Ju managed to achieve more fairy tale-like and 3-dimensional expression of through such directing approach.
