영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to formalize the entailment/ presupposition, adverbial meanings of speaker-oriented adverbs, and aspectual meaning of process verbs in the framework of subatomic semantics. However, the subatomic semantics which is derived from the Davisonian event structure semantics has to be revised to cope with the problems such that the event or state operator could not describe the phenomena above mentioned. It also has a restriction to describe the VP-adverbial and sentential adverbials. In oder to describe the meaning of speaker-oriented adverbials it is necessary to have a new form Adverb(speaker, P) in addition to the form Adverb(e, VP). We also add the ι(iota) operator to describe the cancellation of properties of NP in stead of quantificational meaning of NP. It is also necessary to expend the event arguments e to e1, e2, and so on, because the serial verb or some aspects of the verb can change the events or states from starting point to ending point in an onset.
