영문 초록

There is a very close relationship between culture and language. The right understanding of a particular culture requires learning the language that is spoken in the culture, and the culture should be understood correctly to learn the language properly. In colloquial language, some expressions are hard to explain grammatically or logically, and typical examples are phraseological expressions that represent the unique characteristics of culture. Phraseological expressions are of great significance in language learning in that the expressions are mirrors of the historical, social and cultural characteristics of a country where the expressions are used. The purpose of this study was to examine the scope of Russian linguistics researches in phraseological units and the directions of the researches. In the Russian linguistics sector, phraseological units have been examined mostly in two different ways. Some researchers define a phraseological unit as a third semantic expression that has nothing to do with the meaning of the words included in it, and don t view proverbs, sayings and quotations as phraseological units. But others define it as every expression used habitually in a broad sense and regard proverbs, sayings and quotations as phraseological units. And Russian phraseological units are categorized by several standards such as meaning, morphological marker, syntactic marker, etymological marker and collocational-phraseological level.
