국문 초록

본 연구는 SK(구, 선경)창업과 성장과정의 경영사적 고찰을 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 SK 최종건 창업회장시대를 중심으로, SK의 창업과 성장과정의 역사적시대구 분 문제를 규정하고, SK창업과 성장과정을 경영사적으로 고찰하며, SK의 성장기의 발전 요인을 규명하는 데 있다. 특히, SK의 창업과 성장과정의 경영사적 시대구분은 (1) 태동기: 창업 준비와 그 배경, (2) 창업기: 섬유산업의 발전배경과 선경직물의 창업, (3) 성장기: 경제개발계획(제1차~2차)의 성공과 선경의 성장기 (4) 도약기: 석유에서 섬유까지, 그리고 워커 힐 인수 등 최종건 창업회장시대를 중심으로 분석하였다. 제1기의 태동기는 1940년대(1944~1952)로서 일제하 국내섬유산업구조와 해방을 맞은 적산관리하의 선경직물과 6.25동란과 섬유업계의 피해, 최종건의 직기 재조립 분석의 시기를 조명하였다. 제2기의 창업기는 1950년대(1953~1961)로서 선경직물의 창업과 인기상품인 닭표 인 조견, 당시 혼수감의 대명사로 불리는 봉황새 이불감 출하 등 한국기업사에 크게 두각 을 나타내는 기업 중의 하나로 성장을 예고한 SK의 합성직물 생산시대 개막의 과정을 사적으로 규명하였다. 제3기의 성장기는 1960년(1962~1971)로서 제1,2차 경제개발5개년계획에서 선경의 성장기 섬유산업의 동향을 분석하였다. 더욱이 원자재에서 완제품까지 섬유의 수직계열화 실현을 위한 (1)해외섬유의 인수 및 확장 (2) 울산직물의 설립 (3) 선산섬유의 설립, (4) 선경복장의 설립 (5) 스카이론(SKYRON)상표의 탄생 등 아세테이트와 폴리에스터 생산, 선경화섬과 선경합섬의 설립, 직물생산에서 수출과정, 그리고 화학섬유공업체제의 진입 등 생산기의 사적 규명을 하였다. 제4기의 도약기는 1970년대(1972년~영면), 선경의 다각화시기로서 서해개발의 설립, 최종건회장의 마지막 불꽃, 워커 힐 인수, 석유에서 섬유까지 수직계열화의 태동의 인증, 선경석유주식회사 설립 등과 최종건 창업회장의 영면과 그간의 공훈 수상실적들을 제시하였다. 따라서 SK창업과 성장기의 경영사적 고찰을 통하여, SK의 성장과 발전요인을 규명하는 데도 큰 의의를 두었다. SK의 창업과 성장기의 발전요인은 첫째, 정부의 경제개발정 책의 성공적 대응, 둘째, 경영관리 혁신과 전략경영의 성공, 셋째, 최종건 창업회장의 성장의지와 도전과 개척, 열정과 사업보국주의 기업가정신 등 그리고 넷째는 최종건 창업자의 성공의 4가지 힘(力), 즉, 결단력, 추진력, 인내력, 성취력 등의 발휘이었다. 이상과 같은 SK의 창업과 성장기의 발전요인은 이미 선경시대 1973년~1974년도에 SK그룹 형성의 초석이 되었으며, 우리나라 10대 기업집단(재벌)로 부상하는 결정적 계기가 되었음을 발견할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find and detect the foundation and growth process of SK group. SK group was Founded in October 1953 in korea. since then, it has rapidly grown korea. the growth of SK group has been developed on the base in Textile industry of Chey, Jong-Kun and the petrochemistry and information communication of Chey, Jong-Hyon, such this, SK group is different from other industrial to share a role of brother, that is, the founder. Chey, Jong-Kun prepared the base of SK group to be accept Sun-Kyung Textile company from government in 1953. also the second founded of SK group. Chey, Jong-Hyon has developed more their SK group as growth and development. Since the birth of Sun-Kyung Industries Co., Ltd in 1953. the company has strived to lead the new textile life style entrepreneurship and completed SK group through the vertical integration. The period division of the founder Chairman Chey, Jong-Kun of SK group is as follows. First stage : the quickening period (1944~1952), it s background on the preparatory period of foundation age. Second stage : the foundation age (1953~1961), the development background of the textile industrial and foundation of Sun Kyung Textile Co,.Third stage : growth period (1962~1971), the first five-year plan period (1962~1966) and during the second five-year plan period(1967~1971)and growth period of Sun-kyung. Fourth stage : the take-off period (1972~death), the vertical integration of the company under the motto of from petroleum to textiles industry and Sheraton Walker-Hill co,. The growth factors and foundation of Sun-Kyung in the business history was to successfully strategy with facing each other of economical development plan. Also, growth factors of Sun-Kyung was to innovation of business management and success of business management strategy and the entrepreneurship and growth will of founder chairman Chey, Jong-Kun, and focused of success factor s of founder chairman Chey, Jong-Kun, his might is success, accomplishment energy. The Chairman Chey, Jong-Kun of SK group, South Korea s giant business conglomerates, are a unique and critical aspect of the korean economy.
