대학의 사학 관련 학과에서 진행하는 학술 답사의 양상

국문 초록

경험할 수 없는 과거를 탐구하는 역사학에서 ‘답사’는 ‘추체험’의 기회이다. 때문에 역사가·역사교사를 양성하는 대학의 학과들은 답사의 전통이 있다. 하지만 그 효과를 극대화하기 위한 모색은 활발치 않다. 이 글은 이를 위한 출발점으로 대학의 사학 관련 학과의 답사 현황을 파악하고, 그 난점들을 생각해보기 위한 것이다. 설문을 통해 볼 때 사학 관련 학과들은 답사에 학생 참여를 확보하기 위한 방안을 마련하는 경향을 보였다. 그 방식은 몇 가지가 있었지만 답사 관련 강의 개설은 주목된다. 강의를 중심으로 ‘선행학습·답사·feedback’의 형태로, 답사가 1학기 동안의 활동으로 확장되기 때문이다. 답사 관련 강의의 실제 사례를 보면 답사지역의 역사적 특성과 한국사의 흐름 속에서 해당 지역의 문화유산들을 제시하는 형태로 강의·답사가 구성된다. 때문에 답사에 여러 차례 참여하는 학생은 한국사의 흐름을 반복 학습하는 가운데 지역의 문화유산을 통해 지역사를 통사적으로 접근하며 지역간의 특성을 비교할 수 있었다. 또 답사 이후의 강의는 사학 전공자들이 일상에서 받을 수 있는 질문들이나 전공을 바탕으로 한 진로 설계와 관련되어, 전공에 대한 관심을 재고하고 있었다. 그렇지만 많은 경우, 답사는 정해진 기간에만 한정되는 1회성 행사로 끝나며, 그 활동도 유적·유물에 대한 설명으로만 이루어졌다. ‘경험을 통한 지식의 획득·생성’을 위해서는 답사 전후의 활동이 중요하며, 강의 개설은 하나의 대안이다. 하지만 강의 개설이 아니라도 답사에서의 활동을 다각화함으로서 답사 전후의 활동을 끌어낼 수도 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In the historical study and education, acquisition and generation of knowledge through the experience is very restrictive. However, the field trip to historic sites is, though indirectly, the opportunity to experience the past. This paper is to search the current situation of the field trips in the history-departments through the questionnaire and interview and to consider its problems and complementary measures. Through the questionnaire, history-departments show a tendency to take some measures to ensure the participation of students. Especially, it is noted that to make a class dealing with the field trip. In this case, the field trip has been extended with the activities of during 1semester. Looking at the case of a class, lectures and field trips are constructed in the form of presenting the cultural heritage of the visiting region considering the historical characteristics of the region and the overall flow of Korean history. Therefore the students who participate several times to the field trips can be access the history of the region while learning by repeating the overall flow of history and comparing the various regions’ historical characteristics and cultural heritages. It is to arouse the interest of students about their major. It also helps to students try to plan for the future on the basis of their own. However, most of the field trips end with one-time-event to be carried out for 3days. And activities during the field trips are often performed only explanation for cultural heritage. To realize the field trips’ purpose of that acquisition and generation of knowledge through the experience, prior educations and feedbacks are important. To make a class dealing with the field trip can be an alternative for this. But, without the class, to diversify activities during the field trips can be a method for drawing the activeness of students.
