고등학교 『한국사』 교과서의 탐구활동 분석 및 대안 모색

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009 개정 교육과정에 의해 편찬?출판된 고등학교『한국사』교과서가 탄생된 배경과, 6단원을 중심으로 탐구활동의 구성 및 문제점을 살펴보고, 탐구활동을 제시하여보았다. 고등학교『한국사』교과서는『역사』과목이 바뀐 것으로 개정 교육과정에 따라 급조되어 집필부터 검정에 이르기까지 많은 문제점을 내포하며 탄생되었다. 탐구활동을 분석한 결과 한 종류의 자료를 바탕으로 탐구 과제를 구성하는 방식이 가장 빈도 높게 나타나고 있으며, 세 출판사 모두 절반 이상 차지하고 있다. 단일 자료를 제시하는 경우, 세 출판사 모두 글로만 구성되어 있는 것이 전체 비율 대비 압도적이며, 두 개의 조합으로 이루어진 경우도 ‘글+사진’의 조합 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 이것은 ‘읽는 것’만을 통해 대부분의 학습이 이루어진다고 할 수 있으며, 이는 자칫 학습자들에게 한국사 교과서는 어렵고 지루한 책으로 인식될 가능성이 높다. 그러므로 탐구활동에 있어서 시각자료의 활용을 높이고, 다양한 조합으로 구성하는 방안이 모색되어야 한다. 교과서의 탐구활동의 그 의도와 발문을 기준으로 내용을 분류하여 분석한 결과 역사적 사고력을 높이기 위한 방법 중 탐구력 신장형에 무게 중심을 두고 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있으며, 탐구활동 자체의 완결성, 학습자들이 수행해야 할 활동들 간의 위계성이 부족하다는 문제점이 존재한다. 그러므로 탐구활동 분석을 통해서 알 수 있듯이 교육과정상에 제시된 학습 주제에 대한 이해도를 높이면서도 궁극적으로는 사고력을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안의 탐색이 필요하다. 그러므로 체계적, 위계적 전개에 적합한 순차적 형태나 구조화된 형식의 ‘세트형 탐구활동’으로 재구성하는 방안이 효과적이라고 판단된다. 세트형 탐구활동을 개발하기 위해서 적합한 구성 원리는 SOLO 분류법이 시사적이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 SOLO 분류법을 기반을 두어 ‘탐구력 신장형’과 ‘역사 인식 심화형’을 결합한 탐구활동을 제시하였다. 재구성한 사례들은 학습자들이 활동 단계를 수행하면서 SOLO 분류법의 단일 구조화 단계→ 다중 구조화 단계 → 관계화 단계 → 일반화 확장 단계의 과정을 거치고, 그로 인하여 역사적 사고력을 높일 수 있게 된다.

영문 초록

In this study, inquiry activities was suggested by observing its constitution and problem of Chapter 6 based on background on which Korean History of high school that was edited and published according to revised curriculum of 2009 was initiated. From the start, contents of Korean History textbook of high school of which subject was changed from previous subject of History was improvised according to the revised curriculum and initiated with involving controversial problems from its writing to verification. As an analysis result of inquiry activities, a method comprising inquiry tasks based on one kind of data was represented most frequently and all the three publishers who followed such method accounted for more than half. In case that only one data was suggested, all the three publishers editing rate of textbook based on words only was dominant compared with total rate and even in case of combination of two elements, frequency of words+photos combination was represented to be high. This means that most of the learning is progressed through learning method of just reading only and textbook of Korean History is highly likely to be recognized as a boring textbook by the students. Therefore, in inquiry activities, utilization of visual data is required to be enhanced by composing textbook in a diversified combination. As a result of analysis by classifying the contents of inquiry activities of textbook based on its intention and postscript, it could be confirmed that it focused on inquiry-oriented learning type among the methods of enhancing historical thinking ability and we may find its problem in that it lacks conceptual hierarchy between integrity of inquiry activities itself and activities that is required to be performed by learners. Therefore, as could be seen through an analysis of inquiry activities, a method of being able to enhance thinking ability eventually while increasing level of understanding for the learning topics being suggested in curriculum is required to be explored. Therefore, a method of reconstitution as a set type inquiry activities in a sequential or structured form fit for systematic, hierarchial development is judged to be effective. SOLO taxonomy is considered to be implicative as a constitutional principle fit for developing a set type inquiry activities.
