연령에 따른 공무원 횡령범죄의 영향요인 검정

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 공무원의 횡령범죄 의도에 영향을 미치는 영향요인을 검증하고, 이를 토대로 연령에 따른 조절효과가 있는지 검증하는 것이다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 독립변수는 자기통제이론에서 제시한 자기통제력을, 종속변수는 횡령범죄 의도로, 그리고 조절변수는 연령으로 설정하였다. 연구대상은 화이트칼라 범죄에 해당하는 공무원으로 한정하였으며, 감사연구원의 협조를 바탕으로 구조화된 설문지로 자료를 수집하였다. 특히, 공무원관련 범죄를 조사할 때, 범죄를 저지르지 않는다는 당위론적이고, 모범답안적인 응답이 나올 우려가 있어, 특정 상황에 대한 시나리오를 제시하여 응답하도록 하였다. 분석결과, 자기통제력이 낮을수록, 기혼보다는 미혼일수록, 소득이 낮을수록, 학력이 낮을수록 횡령범죄에 대한 의도가 높았으며, 또한 연령과 자기통제력의 상호작용항을 투입한 결과, 대체로 자기통제력이 낮고, 연령이 낮을수록, 횡령범죄 의도가 높으며, 자기통제력이 높고, 연령이 높을수록, 횡령범죄 의도가 낮게 제시되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify factors which influence public servants embezzlement crime intentions and to prove whether age has the controlling effect on the intentions. In order to achieve this goal, this study included the following variables : ‘self-control’ presented in the Theory of Self-control as the independent variable, ‘embezzlement crime intention’ as the dependent variable and ‘age’ as the moderator variable. The subject of this study is public servants at central and local government offices and workers at public institutions. This study utilized well-organized questionnaires to collect data. Specifically to investigate crimes of public servants, the questionnaires included several scenarios for fear that the result of the survey should be self-obvious. As a result, it appeared that public servants had higher intentions of embezzlement crimes when they had low self-control, when they were single, whey they belonged to low income bracket, and when they had less educational backgrounds. Also, Concerning the relation between age and embezzlement crime intentions, this study found that the lower the self-control the public servants had and the younger the public servants were, the higher the embezzlement crime intentions were and the higher the self-control the public servants had and the older the public servants were, the lower the embezzlement crime intentions were.
