어휘주석이 경계선지능아동의 설명글 읽기이해와 어휘학습에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 주석유형에 따라 경계선지능아동과 일반아동이 설명글 읽기이해와 어휘학습능력에서 어떤 차이를 보이는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 초등학교 4, 5학년에 재학 중인 경계선지능아동10명, 생활연령일치(이하 CA)아동 10명, 언어연령일치(이하 LA)아동 10명을 대상으로 주석유형(무주석,의미주석, 의미예문주석)에 따른 설명글 읽기이해(사실, 추론) 및 어휘학습 과제를 실시하였다. 연구결과로는 첫째, 경계선지능아동의 읽기이해와 어휘학습에서 의미주석과 의미예문주석이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 특히 읽기이해에서는 의미주석보다 의미예문주석이 경계선지능아동에게 더 효과적인 것으로 나 타났다. 둘째, 읽기이해 유형별 수행점수와 어휘학습 수행점수에서 경계선지능아동은 CA아동뿐만 아니라 LA아동보다도 낮은 성취를 보였다. 그리고 경계선지능아동과 LA아동은 모든 주석유형에서 사실적 이해 점수가 추론적 이해 점수보다 높았다. 따라서 경계선지능아동의 인지적 취약성을 보완하기 위해 학교교육 및 언어치료에서 읽기와 어휘 지도 시에 의미예문주석 제공의 필요성이 있는 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of different types of glosses on expository texts comprehension and vocabulary learning in children with borderline intelligence and normal children. As research subjects, this study selected 10 children with borderline intelligence in the fourth or fifth grade of elementary school, 10 chronological age-matched children and 10 language age-matched children. The results of this study are as follows: First, borderline intelligence children were effective in reading comprehension and vocabulary learning with meaning glosses and meaning-example glosses. Especially, in reading comprehension, meaning-example glosses was more effective than meaning glosses for borderline intelligence children. Second, borderline intelligence children showed lower achievement than CA children as well as LA children in the score of reading comprehension type and vocabulary learning. And borderline intelligence children and LA children showed a significantly higher score in realistic understanding than inferential understanding in all types of glosses. Therefore, it is necessary to provide meaning-example glosses in school education and speech-language therapy so that children with borderline intelligence improve reading comprehension and vocabulary learning ability.
