장애인야학 학습자의 평생교육 프로그램 참여 동기 및 저해 요인

국문 초록

이 연구는 장애인야학 학습자들이 평생교육 프로그램에 참여하게 된 동기는 무엇이고, 참여를 저해하는 요인이 무엇인지 분석하고, 이를 토대로 장애인야학 운영의 활성화 방안을 모색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구를 위해 전국의 20개 장애인야학에서 배움을 실천하고 있는 학습자 332명이 응답한 설문조사 결과를 분석하였으며, 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애인야학 학습자의 평생교육 참여 동기를 조사․분석한 결과, 활동지향형 참여 동기가 가장 높게 나타났고, 다음으로 학습지향형 참여 동기, 목표지향형 참여 동기의 순으로 나타났다. 목표지향형 참여 동기는 장애인야학의 운영 주체와 학습자의 연령, 최종 학력, 수입 여부, 장애 유형에 따라 차이를 보였고, 활동지향형 참여 동기는 학습자의 연령, 최종 학력에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 학습지향형 참여 동기는 장애인야학의 위치, 운영 주체, 학교형태의 평생교육시설 등록 여부, 그리고 학습자의 성별, 최종 학력, 장애 등급에 따라 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 장애인야학 학습자의 평생교육 참여 저해 요인을 조사․분석한 결과, 기관적 요인이 가장 높게 나타났고, 다음으로 상황적 요인, 성향적 요인의 순으로 나타났다. 장애인야학의 기관적 특성 및 학습자의 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 참여 저해 요인의 차이를 검증한 결과에서는 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 장애인야학의 활성화 방안에 대하여 몇 가지 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze what motivated the students of the night school for the disabled to participate in lifelong education programs and what factors inhibit their participation and to find ways to revitalize the operation of the night school for the disabled based on the findings. This study has analyzed 322 responses from the students who are learning at 20 nationwide night schools for disabled and the main results of the study are as following. First, as for the result of study and analysis of lifelong educational motivation for the students at the night schools for the disabled show, activity-oriented type motivation was the highest, followed by learning-oriented type motivation and goal-oriented type motivation. The goal oriented motivation showed differences depending on the operator of the night school for the disabled, and age, final educational level, income, and type of disability of the students, and the activity-oriented participation motivation differed according to age and final education level of the students, and the learning oriented participation motivation showed significant differences depending on the location of the night school for the disabled, the operator of the school, whether school type lifelong education facility was registered, and the students’ gender, final educational level and disability grade. Second, as for the study and analysis of the factors that inhibit the participation of lifelong education for night school for the disabled students, institutional factors were the highest followed by situational factors and inclination factors. There were no statistically significant differences in the results of verifying differences in the participation inhibition factors according to the organizational characteristics of the night schools for the disabled and the sociodemographic characteristics of the students. Based on the results above, some discussions were made regarding how to revitalize the night school for the disabled.
