국문 초록

장애학생이 스스로 목표를 수립하고 달성하는 일련의 과정은 학생의 자기결정을 향상시키기 위해 필수적이다. 본 연구는 특수교사 197명과 특수교사가 지도하는 265명의 장애학생을 대상으로 3가지의 연구문제(연구문제 1：특수교사와 장애학생이 기술한 목표의 내용과 범주 비교, 연구문제 2：특수교사와 장애학생이 기술한 목표에 영향을 미치는 학생 변인 탐색, 연구문제 3：특수교사와 장애학생의 진술목표 내용에서 나타난 키워드 파악)를 살펴보았다. 각 연구문제에 대한 주요 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째, 특수교사와 장애학생이 기술한 목표는 목표 내용(사회적 vs. 학업적 vs. 비학업적 목표)와 목표 범주(결과 중심 vs. 처리 중심)간에 차이가 나타나 각 목표 내용 및 목표 범주의 비율이 두 집단 간에다르게 보고되었다. 둘째, 장애학생의 개인적 변인(학년, 교육배치 환경, 장애정도) 중 특수교사와 장애 학생이 기술한 목표에 차이를 미치는 요인은 장애학생의 장애정도(경도 vs. 중등도 vs. 중도 + 최중도)로나타났다. 셋째, 특수교사와 장애학생이 진술한 목표 내용에서 나타난 키워드는 중심부와 주변부를 이루는 단어들의 구성이 다르게 나타났으나, 키워드는 대부분 비학업적 목표에 해당하는 것으로 보고되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 교육현장에서 적용할 수 있는 시사점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

It is essential for students with disabilities to set goals and to evaluate the process of achieving their goals so as to promote their self-determination. The purpose of this study was to analyze the goals that special education teachers and their students specified. Using data collected from 197 special educators and 265 students with disabilities, we examined three research questions (Research question 1: analyzing goal contents and categories between teachers and students; Research Question 2: examining student demographic variables that impacted the goals that teachers and students listed; and Research Question 3: identifying the primary key words in teachers’ and students’ goals). The following study results were summarized. First, the goal contents (social vs. academic vs. non-academic goals) and goal categories (outcome- vs. process-oriented) were significantly different between teachers and students. Second, the severity of disability was the only factor that impacted specified goals between teachers and students. Third, the key words from specified goal contents varied between two groups, indicating the word cloud configuration of center and peripheral areas was distinct between teachers and students but goals from both groups primarily focused on non-academic goals. Based on the study results, implications and suggestions for future studies were provided.
