초등의 디자인 중심 발명교육에 관한 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 디자인과 발명과의 상관성, 발명과정에서 디자인의 역할 및 관련성을 밝혀, 새로운 초등의 디자인 중심 발명교육 방안을 모색하는 것이며, 이를 위해 초등 디자인교육 관점에서의 발명교육을 살펴보고, 창의성과 문제해결능력으로서의 디자인과 발명교육의 관계를 분석하고, 디자인과 발명프로세스의 상관성을 고찰하고, 발명가들의 발명과정에서 디자인과 사고과정 사례들을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 디자인 중심의 발명교육은 개념적 사고를 발달시키는 것과 대상에 대한 인지를 발달시키는 것의 2가지 특성으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 발명은 문제를 발견하고, 문제해결에 관련한 기발하고 참신한 아이디어의 창출을 전제로, 다양한 문제의 제시와 창의적인 문제해결을 요구하는 일련의 과정에서 다양한 사고과정과 모든 신체와 감각기관을 활용하는 문제해결 중심의 창의적인 활동을 요구한다. 셋째, 디자인과 발명 프로세스의 각 단계는 순차적으로 이루어지는 직선적 과정이 아니라 내부적인 순환 체계로 진행되는 최선의 해결안을 얻기 위한 전 과정이 서로 관련성을 지니는 순환적 체계라고 볼 수 있다. 넷째, 레오나르도 다 빈치, 토마스 알바 에디슨, 알렉산더 그레이엄 벨의 발명가들이 발명품을 발명하는데 이용한 디자인 사례를 소개하여, 발명할 때의 디자인이 발명품을 만들고자 하는 발명가들의 아이디어를 효과적으로 표현했다는 것을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between design and invention, the role, the importance, and the relationship of design in invention process. This study investigated about invention education from a elementary design education point of view, analyzed about relation between design and invention education for creativity and problem solving ability, considered the correlation between design process and invention process, and investigated about the design samples of inventors. Results of this study were as follows: 1. Invention education based design in elementary school has two characteristics ; development of conceptional thinking, development of recognition on objects. 2. Invention requires the creative activity based problem solving using the variable thinking process and all sense organs. 3. Each step of the design and invention process has the circular system which had the relationship between each other in all processes for obtaining problem solving, not to linear processes carrying out it in order. 4. It is introduced the design samples that inventors(Leonardo Da Vinchi, Thomas Alva Edison, Alexander Graham Bell) used to invent the inventions.
