초등학생의 학업스트레스가 타인과 친구에 대한 사이버불링에 미치는 영향: 불안의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생들의 학업스트레스가 타인과 친구에 대한 사이버불링에 유의한 영향을 미치는지 여부와 이러한 영향을 미침에 있어 불안의 매개효과가 유의한지 알아보는 것이다. 수도권 I시 4개 초등학교 4-6학년 학생 865명을 대상으로 학업스트레스, 불안, 모르는 타인에 대한 사이버불링, 친구에 대한 사이버불링에 대해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구자료는 구조방정식모형을 통해 분석되었는데 다중매개효과는 팬텀변수를 설정한 후 부트스트랩핑 분석을 실시하여 검증하였다. 분석된 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생들의 학업스트레스는 불안을 가중시키는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생들의 불안은 타인과 친구에 대한 사이버불링 가해행동을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학업스트레스는 우울을 완전 매개로 하여 타인과 친구에 대한 사이버불링 가해행동을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적인 경로는 살펴보면 학업스트레스는 불안을 가중시키고 이렇게 가중된 불안은 모르는 타인에 대한 사이버불링을 부문매개로 친구에 대한 사이버불링을 유발시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 학업스트레스가 우울을 매개로 모르는 타인과 친구에 대한 사이버불링을 증가시키는 과정을 구체적으로 나타냄으로써 초등학생 사이버불링의 예방과 지도방안을 수립하는데 활용 가능한 기초자료로 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to investigate the impacts of academic stress of elementary school students on their cyber bullying behaviors for unknown persons and friends and to examine the mediating effects of their anxiety level on these impacts. At four elementary schools located in I city of capital area, 865 students were surveyed regarding their academic stress, anxiety level, and cyber bullying behaviors for unknown persons and friends. Data were analyzed by SEM (structural equation modeling). In particular, bootstrapping analysis with phantom variables was employed to verify multiple mediating effects of anxiety. Major results were as follows. First, the academic stress of elementary school students increased their anxiety level. Second, the anxiety of elementary school students augmented their cyber bullying behaviors for unknown persons and friends. Third, the academic stress indirectly augmented their cyber bullying behaviors for unknown persons and friends through their anxiety as a full mediation variable. In detail, students’ academic stress made their anxiety level increase, then increased anxiety directly and/or indirectly augmented the cyber bullying behaviors for unknown person and friends. The results of this study can be used as basic data to develop prevention or education programs for cyber bullying of elementary schools students by showing how their academic stress and anxiety can increase the cyber bullying behaviors for known persons and friends.
