국문 초록

바르트는 라틴어에서 차용한 ‘푼크툼(punctum)’의 반점, 찔린 자국, 흔적의 언어적 의미 보다는 ‘나와 관람자(응시자)를 향해 찌르는 감정’으로 보았다. 바르트는 푼크툼의 경험을 현상학에 적용해 관람자(응시자)에게 사진 감상에 대한 새로운 이론을 제시했다. 이렇게 바르트에게 ‘푼크툼’이 발생될 수 있는 원인에는 어머니 죽음이 있었다. 우연히 발견된 사진에서 ‘규정 불가능한 감정(정동)’인 푼크툼이 있음을 깨닫게 되었다. 판화는 도구를 이용해 판재를 깎고 새기고 물성을 경험하며 표현하는 예술이다. 이러한 판화의 물성은 주체의 ‘존재의미’를 더욱 명확히 한다. 제작된 판화이미지는 거친 질감과 재료의 성분들이 시각을 통해서 관람자(응시자)에게 물성이 지닌 시각과 촉각경험으로 신체적 감각의 감성을 전한다. 이는 판화의 푼크툼적 요소로서 관람자(응시자)에게도 동일하게 전달될 수 있다. 이 같은 점에서 본 연구는 사진에서 시작되었던 ‘푼크툼(punctum)’의 요소가 판화에도 적용될 수 있고, 이러한 것을 기반으로 한국현대판화에서 나타난 푼크툼의 요소를 고찰하였다. 한국현대판화를 크게 세부류인, 일제강점기와 6.25전쟁을 겪은 1세대와 전쟁이후에 태어나 경제 성장의 주력이었던 베이비붐 세대인 2세대, 그리고 90년대 중반 이후에 경제활동을 시작한 3시대로 거칠게 나누고, 각 시대의 판화작품을 ‘현실과 물성’, ‘사진과 물성’, 그리고 ‘가상과 물성이 융합한 작품’으로 구분했다. 현실에 물성을 접목한 1세대 작품들은 새기거나 찌르는 것과 같은 물리적인 자국에서 푼크툼적 요소로 나타났다. 사진 이미지를 판화의 물성과 융합해 물성 변화를 추구한 2세대 작품들에서는 사진적인 것에 물리적 자국까지 포함해 증폭된 푼크툼의 감성을 유도했다. 가상이미지에 물성을 융합한 3세대의 작품들에서는 현존하나 부재하는 유령적 환영을 만들어 푼크툼을 감지하게 한다. 이렇게 각 시대에 속한 현대판화작품에서 모두 푼크툼 요소인 감정과 경험이 내재해 있음을 밝혔다. 이 연구를 통해서 사진에서 뿐만 아니라 판화에서도 푼크툼이 내재하고, 이를 근거로 한국현대판화에서 나타나는 푼크툼의 특성을 밝혔다. 그러한 연구의 결과로 판화의 물성이 주체의 존재의 미를 더욱 명확히 드러내어 판화가치의 확산에 일정부분 기여하게 되었다.

영문 초록

Barth was applied the punctum adopted from Latin such as spot, stuck marks, stinging feelings but he considered the punctum towards the subject and the audience (applicants), its rather than linguistic meaning of signs. Barthes is applied phenomenological experience of the punctum and he presented new perspective theory of photography’s appreciate to viewer. Barthes might cause ‘punctum’ by there was a mother s death. From stumble photographies, he realized that the ‘non-regulatory affection’, which is called punctum. The printmaking has experience the ‘shaved and carving’ by printmaking tools in the materiality experience and having transcendent sensational feeling with express the printmaking works. The printmaking material properties are clearly a more ‘existence of the subject meaning.’ Through the visual perspective is able to sense to the coarse textures and components of the materials in the printmaking images. The printmaking of punctum elements is to convey the same impression even spectators. Therefore, this study is attempt to an elements of ‘punctum’, which began to photograph area that is detected in Korea Contemporary Printmaking. Korea Contemporary Printmaking has strength point that the significantly three categories. The first generation went through the war, the post-war second-generation were baby boom generation who protagonist of economic growth and since the mid-90s the third generation focused on economic activities. From each printmaking works belong with these generations that are divided into ‘reality direct with materiality’, ‘photography combed with materiality’, and ‘the virtual images fusion with materiality.’ In all these works are appeared the punctum factors. The first generation of works that the reality combine with materiality textures which is found in the physical marks such as leaking or sticking as the punctum factors. The second-generation works are photography images with printmaking’s materiality which is pursued the physical material properties change to induced the punctum sensibility. In the third generation of works that material properties combined with the virtual images its create the existing and absent images at the same time and show to detect the punctum factors. The each generation contemporary the printmaking works belong to revealed inherent experiences of punctum factors. Through this study that the printmaking material properties to suggest possibility to have punctum factors. And the material properties as punctum sensibility more clarified the meaning of the subject. Furthermore, it suggests that the subject affection such as punctum factors of sensations equally share with the viewers.
